Nclex PN passed 01/27/2015

Students NCLEX

Published

I graduated 06/2014. Took my test 01/27/2015. I had 90 questions. 30% SATA. A lot of mental health questions. I did a 1 hour cram session of popular medications, a RN fact sheet, & I looked over a lab chart. I made sure to rest up and arrive at the facility 2 hours early to review without distractions and to destress. The test was scheduled at 2. I started at 145 and finished at 4.

I was an A/B student. I averaged a 90% on the ATI comp. exams. I found out I was expecting a week before I graduated and had horrible morning sickness. I was silly & didn't make it a priority to pay and take my test right away. I should have sacrificed and paid for it even though I was broker than broke. Anyways, fast forward 7 months and it's test day. I had no time to study or desire at 38 weeks pregnant. I was pretty sure I'd fail. The test wasnt easy. I thought for sure I was failing the entire time. I tried the trick and attempted to pay to retake the exam immediately after the test and throughout the night. When is go to submit my payment it'd tell me I had a exam scheduled recently and cannot place another order at this time. I figured that meant I passed. I looked for my license on the pa nursing board website and sure enough at 9am my license was active :)

My advice? Trust your gut. Believe in yourself. & don't over think the questions.

Congrats Nurse! I will be testing very soon and I'm studying like crazy. What did you use to study ?? Also where can I find the drug cram sheet you mentioned in your post ? Did you find it helpful ?...

To be honest I felt studying the book was way too much. I was a good student in school. I just reviewed the important things like lab values, medications, and a few quick facts. I let my gut guide me and wishes for the best. It's impossible to know everything. Just don't freak out. If you fail it's not the end of the world. Go into taking your test without the fear of failing.

Congratulations!!!! I always say that NCLEX is a lot like childbirth, no two experiences are the same. I have taken NCLEX twice, PN and then for RN, and got the minimum each time. I felt like the questions were way too easy and that I'd failed the NCLEX-PN and had no feeling either way for NCLEX-RN.

I also did NCLEX PN app questions on my smartphones. That helped me set the mindset for answering the critical thinking questions.
