Just so you know (those who is checking the PVT) the trick works only if your file is complete with BRN. IF you have something missing, in my case my transcript, Pearson Vue will not let you re-register until all paper work are turned in to BRN. It breaks my heart today to find out that not only i have to pay 200 for the test, I also have to pay another 150 to BRN....I don't know where to get the money for the next exam, and I don't know how to stand up again and start studying for it neither. If someone has any study advise....please let me know, i really need help.

FYI: There are so many NCLEX study guides out there. When the new changes to the NCLEX went into effect on 04/01/2010, Kaplan's 2010-2011 edition of Strategies, Practices, and Review updated their NCLEX review book to reflect the changes. On the recommendation of a friend of mine at work who is a BSN-RN, I went out to out a bought the guide. I had already purchased the Saunders, NCLEX 3500, and NCLEX 4000. To this day, my Saunders study guide has not been opened and I gave away the 3500-4000 CDs. I read Kaplans book through once just to say I did it...it is only 250 pages with questions, answers, and rationales. I read it through again a second time, this time paying attention to the RATIONALES. During the 2-month period that I was waiting for my ATT letter, I studied maybe 8 hours total. I was just so burnt-out from studying that I just couldn't do it anymore. I went in to take my exam on 06/16/2010 at 8am and at 0905am, I walked out of there after answering 75 questions. It took me about 45 minutes to get home. I did the PVT and could not re-register....2 days later, PearsonVue posted a pass.

All that to say this: I believe Kaplan is the only way to review for this exam...(my opinion), but you must have the updated version of the book. It is a dark blue, very soft to hand and hold, with smooth pages. A friend of mine had an older version that she chose to use and ended up having to repeat the exam. Information changes over time and I personally think it is a mistake to combine different study sources because of the high probabilty of encountering conflicting information. Please get the Kaplan; you will not regret it. I certainly didn't and I am definitely NO SPRING CHICKEN with the brain cells....pushing the big 5-0, not right away, but soon. That friend that I was telling you about is much older than me. So I know that Kaplan will work for you beachbodies out there. LOL! Good luck and never give up. The hard part is over and that was COLLEGE and also the CPNE for those of us who went through Excelsior. Don't dispare over the $200 fee because it is much less than that 2-grand exit exam. (EC grads know what I'm talking about!)

Kaplan Strategies, Practices, and Review; 2010-2011 edition. Or even the 2012 edition if it's out. Good luck!:yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah:

Hello again. took the test again few days ago. failed the first time last May. anyway i took it again..after the test it was very exhausting...on the 74th question, my scratch pad was already full so i asked for a new one. and on the 75th question..it ended. all i had to put on the scracth pad was thank you Lord. 10 SATAs, 1 or 2 computations, 1 sequential order.. there are rumors that if you get around 10 SATAS in 75 questions, you did well. so i it made me feel better. then i didnt want to check the pearsonvue trick coz i wana relax first and after 2 days, i checked..and i got the good pop up...With all the prayers and studying i did, i dint know what else to do if i fail this again but God is good. and pray to St Joseph of Cupertino, St Therese, and studied lacharity prioritization and saunders and nclex4000 and confessed 2 days before the exams..those are my winning ingredients. dont lose hope and keep on praying and studying..goodluck to all of us.

I am so sorry to hear you failed the NCLEX. The good news is, you can take it again, and you can pass it. I took the NCLEX yesterday, passed with 75 questions. While taking the test, I thought I failed it. I had at least 12 pharm questions, about 8 STA, and 2 drag and drop questions. After leaving the test, I felt the NCLEX was not a good measure of how well prepared you are to be a nurse, rather it tests how well you take tests. With that being said, Kaplan was great at preparing me for this test. I used the qbank, all 1200 questions; I completed all the qtrainers, and I took the practice NCLEX tests. Additionally, I reviewed Saunders for content I was not familiar with. I hope this helps you in preparing for the next test: learn strategies.

hello my friend, it must be really frustrating to know that you have failed the exams again. i suggest that you take down the topics that appeared in your exams so at least you would know what to expect when you take it again. 45 days moves so fast. i failed my first try and i was so eager to take the exams right away and thought that 45 days was too long. but i was wrong, it took me about 3.5 months to retake it again coz i had to put myself into the mood to study for it again, and i was even working part time. i suggest you read lacharity prioritization. and nclex 4000. those two will be good enough. i studied for it for a month. i answered lacharity book twice and still didnt perfect it the 2nd time around but it was really a big help coz nclex is more of piroritization and infectious control. so i took mine 2 weeks ago and fortunately, i pass. and the ultimate secret is pray to St Joseph of Cupertino. FOR REAL. YOU WILL PASS The next time you will take it.

Don't lose hope!! You've come this far to give up. It is hard failing but with the right materials and right mindset, you'll be back on track to passing the NCLEX. La charity is very useful and NClex 4000. I basically concentrated on those two and a little bit of Saunders too. Prayers really do help! I prayed to St. therese of the child jesus and st. joseph of cupertino. I'm pretty sure I could not have done it without prayers. Keep your head up!
