i take my exam on monday and was wondering from those that already took the exam how their exams were laid out. did you notice your pharm questions clumped together in a row for example? i know the exam is comprehensive but im nerving myself out over my pharm knowledge. im doing practice exams in pharm and im not doing well back to back. if i do well in all the other areas on the exam and my pharm is lacking will i fail, even if i stay above the passing line?

My questions seemed somewhat random, they didn't seem to stack back to back on any subject. Pharm and other aspects of the curriculum (OB, peds, geriatrics, leadership, med-surg, psych, pharm, a&p, nutrition, fundamentals, prioritization) seemed to be covered in my exam questions. Pharmacology is one of my strongest subjects. My suggestion would be to learn how to determine what the question is asking and eliminate the obviously wrong answers (such as 1,000mg of Tylenol for a 22kg pediatric patient)first then use your knowledge to make the best selection. If you know the basics & your drug categories (such as endings as they pertain to class--> cillin (penicillin abx), mycin (macrolide abx) etc, then you should be ok to make an educated guess if there is a drug name that you roadblock on or aren't familiar with. Good luck. Try to not psych yourself out of passing.

I just took my test pn last oct 29,2011 and i only had like 3-4 pharm questions and like 2 calculations.every person has each type of questions.so you have to be prepared on every different areas of the test.you camt focus on just one area.know your content and it gives you additional knowledge answering the questions.pn is just like rn but basic of rn.i know it cuz i took my rn test before unfortunately didnt passed the test.

hello mom n student were on the same page ill be taking my test on this monday! can i ask what you have been studying on?and the people that pass what did u guys study on?i am currently using exam cram pn right now thanks!

i have been going over everything. doing 100-120 practices a day, giving myself a couple days off from material to rest my brain. from doing the questions ive gotten the chance to really see what areas im weaker in and which ones im confident in. pharm is a weaker subject for me so ive been doing some work in it lately.

This is great for pharm. It helped me with the pharm Qs on my test. Which I passed.

I passed in August and am already licensed and working as an LPN. I finished rather quickly with 85 questions, some were a bit complicated/multi step. I studied from the first day of class and as I progressed through the curriculum. Many of my textbooks had coordinating online resources that included NCLEX style practice questions. My workbooks also had numerous NCLEX style practice questions. I found the ATI & ATI comprehensive to be particularly useful and rather similar to NCLEX-PN. We had access to ATI for a full year after our initial access as part of our course work. (I know some people did not find ATI useful, however I did.) Personally, I did not do hundreds of prep questions a day  from graduation to test date as that is not a method that works for me. So technically I guess you could say I started preparing for my NCLEX in Sept 2010 though my exam in August 2011.

good luck
