Nursing Students NCLEX

Passing the NCLEX-PN with 176 questions...YES you can do it! I wanted to share my NCLEX story to help others since this site helped me so much throughout nursing school, the NCLEX, and the horrible wait after the NCLEX until I got my results

I have been using this site throughout nursing school for advise and encouragement. It has helped me, so I decided I would post my story so I could help others. I took the NCLEX yesterday (12-29-15) at 0800 in Georgia. I reviewed a little bit the day before, but I didn't do much preparing for it. I was so nervous before going to take the test. I got there, sat down at the computer, put in my earplugs (I HIGHLY suggest using these), went through the tutorial, and got ready to begin my test. I instantly felt nauseous and tears starting flowing. I took a deep breath and said a prayer. After I got myself together, I began the test. I had ALOT of SATA, and a variety of other questions (including those yucky pharm questions we all hate). I got to questions 85 and hit next. It went to questions 86, and my heart sank. I was devastated because everyone else in my class got cut off at 85. I kept going and next thing I know I am at question 100, then 125, then 150, and finally I got cut off at 176. I left the testing center knowing that I failed. I was heartbroken. I cried the entire way home, when I got home, and I cried myself to sleep. The questions felt to basic to me. I took test with WAY harder material in nursing school, and ATI was WAY harder. When I got home, I tried the "trick" and I got the good pop up. I felt a little relieved until I found a thread talking about how it doesn't work and how it does that to everyone during the first 24 hours. I then went back to being devastated. I check pearson vue every hour (even though I knew it would be 48 hours), I checked the secretary of state website and the BON. My husband finally told me he was taking away my computer and iPad this morning (which he did). He said I was stressing him out along with myself. I got a text from my mom at 0900 this morning (only 24 hours after). It was a picture of my name and my license #. I instantly cried and thanked God. I went to my parents house (since my lovely husband took my computer and iPad) and checked pearson vue to see what it said...it said results unavailable. I searched my name again on GBON and it pulled up my license and I was able to print it. I was so happy because I just knew I had failed. I will quit babbling and get to my point of this story...which is that you can pass, even with a large number of #'s and easy ?'s. I promise you can do it!!!! I have faith in you. If you made it through nursing school, you can handle any question NCLEX throws your way. Just remember: read your questions, read each answer choice thoroughly, eliminate choices, go with your gut, and always pick oxygen or the patient who needs oxygen (remember ABC). YOU'VE GOT THIS!!!

Congratulations!

Isn't GA BON great, they had my license posted in less than 24 hrs!

So do you have any jobs already lined up?
