NCLEX # of questions

Nursing Students NCLEX

Has anyone else taken the test and had no idea how many questions they got?? After 75 I forgot to pay attention! I am pretty sure it was between 85-110. I don't remember glancing at a three digit number. I had a lot of priority questions, who to see first, call first, and a few delegation. I had things I never heard of before! I am pretty sure I failed...which everyone says. It just wouldn't shock me if I did fail, but it sure would shock me if I passed. Did this happen to anyone else, or am I just ridiculous?

There are many students like you who have gotten so wrapped up in the test that they lose track of the question number, then all of the sudden get the 'blue screen of death.'

Keep in mind though, that as far as telling you pass/fail, the number of questions is basically meaningless.

I took my test today and shut off at 83. I'm extremely worried!!! I choose so many stupid answers and had no clue about so many! I did really well in school. I had a few drugs that I had never seen before and I had to teach the patient (no clue and no additional information)! I had maybe 10 priority and delegation. I had management questions that I had no clue about but at times I felt like I was given low level questions. I also felt that my last question was a fact low level question and I don't know if I got it right. Does this mean anything? I'm going crazy!!!

Mjorio,

I think you're overanalyzing. There is nothing in your post which tells us that you either passed or failed. Remember that both passers and failers tend to get around 50% of the questions right, so it's going to frustrate a lot of people. Good luck, guys.

I found out at about 10 am today that I did pass! I had tears in my eyes. I just can't understand how I passed...I was so sure I had failed! I am so excited! Thanks for the replies. This just proves that you can pass with an unusual number of questions.:nuke:

Congratulations nurse JEN! Time to celebrate!!!:balloons:

Congrats, Jen! Actually I was just posting the other day that as long as you get between 75 and 265, there is no unusual number of questions. Now if the computer stopped after #12, that would truly be weird.

Now that you're going to be licensed, I suspect you want to get that 'StudentRN' changed on your username. You can post your request (along with your three top choices for a new username) at the Administrators Site Feedback Forum located here: https://allnurses.com/forums/f128/ . Make sure you tell them you passed the NCLEX.

Again, congrats!
