NCLEX examination..can I talk to myself?

Hey all!
For all those who took the exam can you tell me if you are far enough from the other person that you can whisper to yourself the questions and analyze it? Or are other people close enough to hear you?
I always talk out loud when I do questions and I feel like thats they only way I can do it.

it depends on your testing facillity. you will be video and voice recorded. and if it looks or sounds as if you are cheating then you will be asked to leave. that is what i was told yesterday when i took mine. i like reading my stuff out loud as well but i didn't because i was afraid to.

I would advise NOT to do this. You have come this far and have worked way too hard to ruin it all on talking to yourself. And if they think you cheated, this could haunt you for years to come. My advice is do not, under any circumstances, give them any reason to suspect you are cheating; do not talk to yourself.

At the pearson site I was at everyone had headphones and a earplugs dna he advised everyone to put them on so that we couldn't hear a thing or each other my silly butt didn't and within 3 minutes I was hearing car alarms go off etc. so I put them on and I was deaf to the world and I read out loud not out loud but in a whisper i guess.

In the building that I was in we had 1 room that was seperate, I would ask if they have an individual room like that for the talkers. I had a friend that used it. They say its for "special needs" testers. But if its not being used...hey ask!

Good luck!

Yeah I guess it's ok to whisper, cuz when i do questions too I whisper it to myself as I read..it helps me I guess. When i took it the first time I had no problems whatsoever and no one came up and told me to get out..lol. I also highly recommend getting the earphones yes just take them! If your testing with others you'll come across some who are typing alot and it gets alittle noisy, other than that whisper away just don't be too loud. XD

I would discourage talking to yourself during the NCLEX. The testing area where I went were basically cubicles and it was as quiet as a church. I think the earplugs are to help prevent distractions from the clicking sounds you will hear from people using the computer mouse.

You are videotaped and audiotaped.

Personally, if I would have heard anyone talking while taking my test, I would have been very upset.

Start practicing not reading aloud at home before the test. At nursing school, I'm sure you were able to do the tests without talking.
