NCLEX Confidence?!?

I have been following this forum for sometime already..as recommended by a classmate. I also got intouch with Ms. Suzanne4 for some advise for my forthcoming NCLEX exams. My anxiety is soaring up high and I have two more weeks to go. Right now, I am doing Saunder's Computerized NCLEX-RN and I feel confident about it but once in a while I answer Q and A from NCSBN and KAPLAN then it crushes my faith in taking the exams because I do not get promising results compared to the Saunders.
Any words for me on this.....I'm loosing my sanity!!!! HELP!!!!

Just remember...ABC's, MASLOW's. When it comes to delegation or priority...ask yourself...what needs to be done NOW and can't wait...What can you put off till later? Also ask who is the most stable patient to delegate a task to an LPN... if there is an unstable patient you aren't going to give it to LPN are you? NO...that is the RN's job to assess that patient. Also, if there is any answer that says....call Doctor, notify doctor... 9 times out of 10 it is WRONG and you need to throw it out. ASSUME YOU ALREADY HAVE AN ORDER!!! Assume that it is a perfect world and that is the only patient you are taking care of. NCLEX is based on perfect world and not real world. Also...if asked a question and you see distractors that related to psychosocial...throw them out....remember Maslows. Physical needs come before safety and psychosocial. if there isn't a physical answer...think safety...so on up the Hierarchy needs triangle. I also have the Saunders, Springhouse, Drexel, & Kaplan. The Drexel & Kaplan is pretty close to the way NCLEX is going to ask you questions. Kaplan I think is the most reliable to study from. I take my boards Monday. Remember...it is how you APPLY the already vast of knowledge that you learned in nursing school to answer a question. These are NOT knowledge based questions....if that was the case...it would be a breeze to study and there wouldn't be a shortage of nurses. I would say study more of your Kaplan, brush up on Pharm, lab values, OB, prioritizing and delegation and infection control, and safety. Those tend to be the most important. Good luck

It can be hard not to get stressed but keep in mind that you got this far so you can do it. Practice answering questions everyday, decide what the stem of the question is and what is the priority in the nursing process when the question asks what you should do in a given situation. And Maslows if the question asks about client needs.
I am also studying for the NCLEX and I know it can be frustrating some times when I can't answer questions right. I would have to say the most helpful for me has been Kaplan and Saunders even though they are different they still expose me to what I need to review and prepare for.
Good Luck to You, You can do it.

Really frustrating not to get the answers right... then I tend to question my understanding.... it is me? knowledge deficit? or just the way I understood the question....well, i guess practice and practice and practice.

Thank you for the support! GOOD LUCK!

I am just a quiet member but I have been an avid reader on all postings almost everyday... I am so encouraged with all the postings on this forum it is indeed very encouraging to hear all the success stories posted and I believe it bring good vibes to all NCLEX takers!!
To all members frequently contributing THANK YOU! for holding us on esp. to those who need to pass the NCLEX.
It is going to be my third take on June 17.... my confidence is a lot better than few weeks before. Though anxiety is my best enemy... but I got a tip.. take deep breaths every 2-3 questions, sing a happy song on top of my voice on the way to the exam site and most of all relax and PRAY A LOT before and after the exam.
Wish me Luck!... You will all hear from me again.
