NCLEX Books As A Pre-Nursing Student?

Is there any reason NOT to pick up an NCLEX book before nursing school to look through?

I don't think that I would be worried about the nclex right now. But if you want you can always do that, but you proobably should focus on school 1st.

I just started my second year in nursing school and got Saunders 4th edition comprehensive review over the summer. Wish I had it last year to study from. It has an outline form of most things covered in school (therefore on NCLEX) that makes it a great reference tool for quick study as well as the practice questions at the back of each chapter. While in school I would definitely get a book that has a review portion to it, not just questions.

I used these books to study for standardized tests for the Excelsior program and in other instances. Also used them while I was in school. Lots of people do this. Just don't get yourself mired in them. Anything about nursing makes for good reading, especially when you don't need to be studying at the time. Just read for interest.
