I'm going to be starting my pre-reqs for the LPN program this summer and i'm just wondering about the NCLEX. After you finish nursing school how soon after can you take the NCLEX? Is it right away or do you have to wait so long? Is there usually a long wait to take the test? Thanks

Depends on how quickly you fill out the forms. We were told to fill them out in our last semester & mail them in. Upon graduation - nclex is notified of who has graduated. They process our applications & I have heard that some students have taken the nclex exam 3 to 4 weeks after graduation. Others choose to take the exam a couple of months later so that they have time to study & take review classes. It's whatever you prefer.

My instuctor sent our transcripts on May 16 and as soon as I got an email giving me the ok to schedule, I did and got June 14. Wish me luck!

as jen has stated, it all depends. my state's board of nursing, just weeks ago, does not require the school to send of transcript, monies to apply for licensure or take the nclex. the student can do it themselves either by mail or online.

I just took mine. If you feel you failed and the computer shuts off early, you probably passed. Take as much time as you need to answer each question.
