Nclex 4000

Since I found I last Sunday that I did not pass the NCLEX I have been studying about 3 hours per day. I am using Saunders 4th edition, taking all the practice tests and reviewing what I got wrong. Yesterday I bought the NCLEX Review 4000 software. I wanted to see if anyone else used this software and what your thoughts are? Do you think it was helpful? I have done two 75 questions exams so far and scored 50/75 and 65/75. Some of the questions just seem to be too easy???

I got the nclex 3500 in 2006 and that was one of my 2 study tools then. However, it became my primary study tool beginning last year. It was very helpful during school cuz i learned from it and i felt it was very helpful for the nclex. I read all my rationales though and so i suggest you read the rationales and once you keep doing those questions over and over, some of the points would sink into your brain and you'll memorize certain answers. Some of the questions i saw on the nclex were similar to questions i saw on that cd. Only thing is i only reviewed psych before the exam and just when i started to review peds, i stopped at a question and decided i'll come back to review the rationale. Crazy thing is i saw that peds questions on nclex, i just wish i'd looked at the rationale instead of hibernating my computer.

I would strongly encourage you to use that and try learning in the "review" mode first. I did the review mode most of the time because i was using that instead of my textbook so i needed to see the rationales. This software has very good rationales, you can actually learn from it. also, you don't have to do all the questions in one siting, i usually hibernate my computer and keep coming back to answer them.
And i can't stress it enough, Read the rationales!!!

Sorry to hear. Don't give up =D. How did you study? You should have done at least a couple thousand questions and understood them before you took the test.

My professor says you should do fine if you get 65-70% on the NCLEX4000 cd.

What were you doing in the 3 hours each day? Perhaps better advice can be given if we knew your study habits.

We use Nclex 4000 at school also with Kaplan and I think its GREAT. It helps me in school and I have been told it also helps with Nclex. I think I am going to try to buy it for my personal computer too. Right now we have it on the school computers only.

Use kaplan qbank or exam cram. It's really close to nclex. I remember when I tried saunders and nclex 3500, I get a score above 80%. But when I used kaplan qbank, I get around 60%. So there's really a big gap between its level of difficulty.

Stick to one review book to avoid confusing yourself more with information. I think NCLEX 4000 is the best. Good luck!
