I took the NCLEX on last week and had all 265 questions and I failed. I have to wait to take the test again in 50 days. As I was taking the test I noticed that I kept getting a lot of questions regarding prioritization and infection control. Does that mean that I was getting the questions wrong that's why I kept getting them?

I only had 6 SATA questions, are these considered the higher level questions.

Does the NCLEX get harder and harder each time you take it like the HESI?

I just really don't know how to prepare for the 2nd time around, I'm really not for sure if I will have anymore questions on infection control, delegation, or prioritization when I take it again. I just want to do everything that I can do to pass the 2nd time around.

One more thing, I know that I had a lot of drug questoins and majority of I didn't know. I know that it is IMPOSSIBLE to learn all the drugs but how can I prepare for them????

Prioritising is classed as a higher level. No one can predict what sort of questions you will get on the exam and the next time you sit it you will get different questions and maybe even totally different areas covered. The exam works on your weakness. SATA is just another format and can be either higher level or lower level. Plus there is a certain number of questions which are test questions and they could be the SATA so do not count towards your results.
Study next time as if you haven't take the test before. Would also consider Suzanne's plan. Hang in there and good luck for the next time just don't give up

Our instructor always told us that as you get questions right they get harder and harder. If you get to questions about delegation then you're doing well.
I would suggest doing practice question after practice question to prepare yourself to take it a second time. I spent a lot of time doing the Saunders book questions and the CD questions. Sit down and tell yourself you're going to do 100 of them. Then take a break, go do other things. Come back after a couple hours and do 100 more. If you want you can even make a note of the topics you're missing and look up some information about them to refresh yourself.
