My New Job "proffesional Rn-NCLEX" taker.

by MaleNursesRock Premium Member

....Uuughhh, my second time down, today is day 3 and nada on the website. last time i did this "wake up at 0400 everyday to check the website" for 3 weeks, now, im i "know" how it works..with the CA BRN, ive called them (last time) about 12 times and talked to several people.

The Way it works: (from experience and fellow students and messages here)

1. If its not a transcript problem (obviously mine isnt)
2. If you dont have a SSN (which i do)
3. non-business days dont count

also im considering the time fram when i took it, last time i took it it was in jan, sooo the CA brn was bombarded with all the new grads form dec

this time (my second) i took it, "off season" soo that factor shouldnt play a part

also, a member on here took it the same day as me (she messaged me) and she found out today.

im not toally gonna give up hope until sat morning (cause the CA brn is always a day behind..so sat would be for friday)..then im gonna mail in my re-app, like i did last time, i friend of mine (at work who failed her first time as well) told me , if i hadnt received my name online within 6 days , mail that app off to cut down on the 'dead time"

i did that, when i got my official letter of fail, the same day i had my ATT code..soo it worked out great for me,,i tested right at 45 days.

Like i said before , im OK this time around, sure im bummed.

you know what i realized is this;

No matter what the stats from the BRN website or the ATI statistics are for passing..EVERYONE eventually passes. so it is, in a sense, 100%.

I look at my life and feel fortuante that i have a great family, and a wife (who is also as Rn) who can adequeatly provide for us while i "bum it" and not work. I know many others who are in harder financial circumstances.

Im going to trake till next monday off studying and then BACK to borders , for my usual hot chocolate and study.

JON

Oh, p.s i gonna make (as a joke) a t-shirt (s) that says

1. "proffesional Nclex taker"
2. "I gave the CA BRN and pearson view 2000 dollars in fees, and all i got was this lousy t-shirt"

humor is my way of dealing with it all.

It is very hard to wait...not only wait but remain positive at the same time. Especially when it is your second time taking boards. I will be retaking soon so I empathize with you. Remember, you said that you would listen to Bob Marley..."Don't worry about a thing...cuz every little thing is gonna be alright!" So don't worry Jon...you got this!

You know, funny that you mentioned that,, in fact the day of the test..i was sitting in my car at the pearson view parking lot waiting for thme to open up..

i was listening to that song for motivation on my cd, asking for a sign..

The part where he says "woke up this morning, smile with the rising sun", at that exact moment where i was facing the sun actually crested over the horizon ! and was in full view by the end of the song !

i dont know maby im getting cheesy in my old years, but it was (to me) very symbolic ?..

I agree that is very inspirational!!! That was your sign! Life is toooo short to worry, even though you have every right to, with everything going on in your family. But think about it...will worrying make your situation better? We both know the answer to that. So I believe that was a sign for you to just enjoy today...live for today...enjoy your wife and family...Don't worry. Thanks for sharing!!!

I took the exam on Monday and I didn't find out until Friday morning that I passed. Remain positive

Did you have any better sense of picking a correct answer this time? The reason I ask is because I'm in the same boat. I took it failed and know what the test is like. I also remember thinking to myself how on earth would I prepare should i fail. Of course I did, and now wait for the courage to do it again.

Just wondering if whatever game plan you had this time had any effect on your confidence while taking the test.

And best of luck to you. I feel your pain all too well.
