Math - when do you round?

by luvHim

Hey, new here, but love the site! I test on Wed at 2pm (ah, so soon!), and am taking the Kaplan online course. I noticed on Kaplan for drug dosage questions they do not round to the 10th place, but the 100th place. DOes anyone know the NCLEX rule? Thanks!!!

The NCLEX tells you (in the question) how far they want you to round the answer, so no need to worry about that.

Mine didn't and I just about died because I didn't read the introductory questions and just scrolled past it so I thought that was where it told you how much to round.

Just took NCLEX today, had 2 math problems, both questions told me how to round.

Yes... like some others mentioned here, I had two math questions and was told how to round the answer on both.

Dang, what test did I take? Oh well I passed it with 75.

My first one I did round up but the second one, thank goodness, worked out whole. May I ask without violating any NCLEX secrecy what rounding method they had you use?

I think the two questions I had, one said "round to the nearest whole number" and the other said round to one decimal or something like that. Hopefully that doesn't violate any rules by saying that!

What about drops per minute? I feel like I should round the the nearest drop, but I think they taught us to round UP in school, but I can't remember for sure. So 30.2 becomes 31 drops, or 30 drops? Anyone know which way it goes? Thanks!
