License Expires Next Year, Why???

Hi folks, can you guys figure out why my License is only until next year while some of my classmates who took the NCLEX and passed will have their license expire in 2008? How come mine's only 1 year and I will have to renew it right away next year? Is this maybe a typo or BRN had a mistake??? Please advise on what I should do.. Thanks a bunch!

Here's a discussion that we recently had regarding Texas initial license expiration. Not sure what state you're in, but I suspect it's a similar situation.

Whether your date is 1 or 2 yrs depends on your birth month in relation to when you received original licensure.

I believe, but could be wrong, that it's on the second birth month AFTER licensure.

So, if your birth month is Sept (like mine) and you just received licensure, your license would be due in Sep'07. If, on the other hand, your birth month is Apr, it would be Apr '08. So, that creates a range from 12 months to 24, depending on your birth month IN RELATION TO the month you took NCLEX.

Your birthday falls sometime later this year, correct?

~faith,
Timothy.
