Kaplan's Qbank

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello :)

I have a question. I am taking my boards next Wednesday(the 23rd). I purchased kaplan's qbank and I'm doing 200 questions per day ( I'll be done with them by this Saturday). Anyways, these questions are very challenging and they really do keep me on my toes. I know I should not get hung up on predictor scores because the nclex rn is one unpredictable exam BUT My qbank average is anywhere from 54%-68% and I can't find it anywhere on the kaplan site where it explains what an "average" qbank test scores should be. BTW: never in my life have I ever scored less then 80% on nursing exams (seeing 54%-68% hurts my big heart lol :redbeathe)

Thank you!

THAT is hilarious!!!! I've been telling my boyfriend that once I get this test over with we'll do things we've been talking about like go to the zoo (which we've been talking about for months! haha) and we're actually going to Disneyland on Monday! (V-day) :D Hilarious. He was too sweet he knew I was a nervous wreck about my NCLEX and showed up on my door step at 8:30pm the night before with a bouquet of flowers. Sweetest thing ever!!!

As for a job, I work as a tech at the biggest trauma center in San Diego... I work in the trauma unit and LOVE it! The next new grad residency program starts in March so I am hoping to stay right where I am and work with the people that have become my other family :D

What about you? What is the job you are set up with if you pass?

And as for studying - Once I finished all the questions I just started doing q-bank questions again and surprisingly there were a lot I didn't remember so it helped.

that's sooo sweet...congrats!! everything paid off

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!:yelclap:

That is exactly what happened to me!!!! When I got to my school the pop-up originally said something like with like "current test results" or something I don't know.... But when I came back and tried like half hour later, it was the good pop up!! I think what that meant was that the test/results were still pending and getting finalized. Now the waiting game is on till we both see our names on the BRN website!!! I'm in San Diego, California though and our state doesn't do the "quick results" so who knows how long it will take! I am hoping to see my name up there by Tuesday morning at the latest!! ;) What state are you in noyesno?? I am so proud of you!!!!!! It's so funny cause when I woke up this morning I some how had this insane memory of a lot of my questions and looked up stuff and found out that I guessed right on a lot of them :D Mostly it was the 1,000 medication questions I got that I remembered haha.

Thanks so much prettyinpink! :) I'm going to look up the stuff that I didn't know tomorrow. I'm so curious to see what I guessed correctly on and what I missed. I wish we got a print out of our test results with the answers.

It's weird how good we've gotten at guessing!

I'm going to PM you my location.

And it's funny also cause last night I must have spent about 3 hours going through page after page after page on the pearson vue trick and reading everyone's experience with it and from what I read, it is 100% accurate!!! :D :D :D

Today has been awesome!!! It's so weird having a day off from everything! I went and got a cup of coffee and relaxed in the beautiful sun by the beach, got a pedicure, and got my car washed. :D I love being done with this test!

The PVT is the best!

Today sounds like the perfect day off for you. Coffee+beach+pedicure+car wash=recipe for a good day. :) Well deserved!

@prettyinpink57 and @noyesno -- congrats on passing the nclex!!!!!! must be such a HUGE relief to finally get this test done and over with and officially be an RN!

I was wondering...did you guys feel that the kaplan Qbank questions were similar to the NCLEX Q's?? I'm slightly freaking out since you guys mentioned a LOT of SATA's...(25?!?!??)-- I am absolutely horrible at those and almost always get them wrong! :( taking mine in a week from today. any advice would be greatly appreciated! thanks and hope you guys get to relax and/or celebrate this weekend :yeah: (@prettyinpink57- i am also in so cal and the weather is supposed to be gorgeous this weekend!)

Thanks sasagrrrl! :)

I thought the NCLEX was easier and more straight forward than the Kaplan question bank. There wasn't so much, "what the heck are they asking here?" going on when I read the question.

I am horrible at select all that apply. I did the select all that apply test under "alternative quiz type" in the Kaplan toolbox and got a 33%. I think during my test I got a multiple choice question correct, got a SATA got it wrong, got a multiple choice question correct, got a SATA got it wrong, etc.

I'm going to root for you! Next Friday is your day! :)

Awww thanks so much. I just explained this message thing to my husband and mutual stress and how great it was b/c I can get on here and chat with people who know how I feel. He LAUGHED at me! MEN.. Anyway, Thanks

Question for you and prettyinpink

So I take mine Wednesday. I have done ALL the questions on Kaplan!

what do you recommend, I was going to go back and watch some of the video lectures, but just not sure what to watch. thought about watching pharm but there is so much. I have a few hours Saturday and Monday and that is it! I trust your judgement..tell me what to watch! Thanks Guys.

NICE CALIFORNIA! I live in Maryland and guess what..it is cold!

After finishing the questions:

-I went and watched the pharmacology lectures again

-I review my Readiness Test rationales

-Made sure I knew my lab values

-Reviewed any concepts that I struggled with consistently

-I relaxed last night and this morning before my test

Thanks so much Twinessa1! I'll post the official results as soon as they're available! :)

Congrats! :)

Awesome job! I would love that! I live in a small town so the nearest big trauma center is Baltimore which is two hours away. I have a 7 year old and a 10 year old and I am too old to drive that far everyday! I have a job starting on March 7th at our local hospital. I will be on the med-surg floor, which is fine to start. I would like to go to the ED in a year or so. Our ED really won't hire you without experience, so that is my plan. I would LOVE flight nursing, so we will see.

I work at the hospital now, about two days a week, doing whatever they need me to do. Mostly sitting 1;1's which I actually find to be fun! HA!

Well, I am going to go watch Infection Control and Pharm. today! Enjoy!

You are so sweet sasagrrrl! :) You are so welcome. Thank you for you kind words!

I think the anticipation is the worst part of the NCLEX. Once you get through this week, your quality of life will improve.

YOU CAN DO IT!
