Kaplan question Trainer 7...Need help!!!!

by JR816

Hi all,

I am looking for some words of encouragment. I just finished Kaplans question trainer 7 and scored a 59. ugghhhh. I am a little tired being at work and all but I thought I could at least get a 63. All of my q-bank scores were in the 60's. I am testing on Monday and just want this anxiety to be done with.

Do you think that the Kaplan "bar" is set a little high to ensure their passing rate?? Should I reschedule and continue studying?? I will take any and all input.

Thanks,
jr

I'll tell you what happened to me and you can see if it fits you. This applies to the "Kaplan Complete." I did everything right, like studied 2 1/2 to 4 weeks (I planned and did 4 weeks while working as a RN applicant), studied ONLY "the Kaplan way," hit my weakest stuff first, did all the trainer stuff, my scores were good (up to 65), and I didn't get predominantly a certain kind of question wrong. So I took another trainer test (I forgot if you can where you are, but at that point I could), and I busted 60. So I called Mom and she told me I was as ready as I was ever going to get and I should go for it before I lost any more info. I thought to myself "Yeah, I can see that at this point, I'm losing more content per day than I'm gaining," so I took it as scheduled and passed in 75. I could see the improvement in my critical thinking, so I thought, well maybe it's time. Also I know myself pretty well and figured if I put it off once, I'd do it again and again until I lost the time I needed for a re-test if needed. And I looked around at the delayers I knew and knew it was true. That was just me, but hope it helps.

If you don't mind my asking, what was your cumulitive qbank score? I feel the same way. I started doing some Saunder''s just to brush up on my content and found the wuestions to be kinda easy. I only have a couple hundred qbank questions left but my scores are ranging from 60-80%. I think that's kinda good.....right?? How long ago did you pass?

take the NCLEX! I was in the exact same boat as you, and contemplated if I was ready. But--I actually read from someone on here that they has never even broke 60 on any of kaplan's study banks and they passed. So I figured I'd give it a go. I passed in 75 questions and it took me about 40 minutes to complete NCLEX. I do believe Kaplan sets the bar a little high...that being said, I think it really helped me. GOOD LUCK! Be calm and relex and you will do great. Many people fail out of nerves and not lack of knowledge. I guess in the end I just thought to myself: "What's the worst that could happen? I could fail....I've done that." This is one test and does not determine the rest of your life (although it's easy for me to say that now that I'm done testing but TRUST ME!) sending many good vibes your way

My QT #7 was 59%. I passed 1st try. It's all depends if you feel ready or not.

I keep in contact with five of my friends from the nursing program. They all did kaplan and were averaging no higher than in the fifty's. My one friend got to test 6 and scored 62 but all the test before that she was scoring in the 50's. All of them passed but one so far. I didn't pass my first time but didn't do the 7 test either so that is what I am working on right now. Keep at it
