Kaplan Prep

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hi all:

My NCLEX is scheduled for Jan 30th (starting to get anxious) and I just started my online Kaplan program.

I am surprised and dissapointed that I am not finding any guidance on their website on how to best use this tool and plan out your prep. I was also somewhat shell-shocked when I got 64% on my diagnostic and, so far, 75% on QT1 and 59% (!!!) on QT2. And there are no benchmarks for you to know exactly how good or bad this is...

If you used the program with good results, how did you use it? Did you cover a lesson a day? Did you use their materials or something else for content review? And what scores should I be content with or worried about on these practice tests, 'cause the scores I got so far are scaring me.

Thanks!!!

There is a chart that explains what the grades predict. I don't have it anymore, but from what I understand, mid 60s and up are definitely considered ready for passing. Keep going at it. Your scores look great, and remember to review the rationales of the ones you get right as well as the ones you get wrong.

I watched 1-2 hours of video a day and reviewed those sections in the book. Then did questions

Thanks wayemika. Do you mean content videos? I am doing the On Demand and not clear how you work with Classes vs Content lectures.

I got a 63% on diagnostic and 61% on my readiness test. I, too, am curious how this correlates? However, I know in the end it's all up to me, but doesn't hurt to have some positive reinforcement :)

Also wondering if folks read the Kaplan "RN Course Book" as the course suggests or used other materials for content review?
