I'm losing my...

mind! I failed my first try on 7/8/08. I'm beside myself wondering if I will pass the second time. I'm scared to death and each and every day instead of feeling a bit better, I feel worse. I took the Kaplan course through school because it was mandatory. They added three more months on to my online materials since I failed. So what did I do..went on there took a qbank test and got a 38%!! What the heck?? I've been studying Saunders for three weeks and am scoring very very well with their CD. I thought it was content that I may have been missing the first time around but now I just really don't know. I did well first time around on Kaplan, got in the 60's on everything qtrainers and qbank and did all seven qtrainers and all 1000 qbank questions. Please help me. I feel I'm destined to not become an RN after going back to school and graduating with my BSN at 53 years old! Crap, sometimes it feels like nothing I want is going to happen. I am not starting a pity party here, I truly believe that the more I work myself up the better chance I have at failing...someone, anyone please help me. I feel like a total failure. I'm scheduled to test again in September and I just want to know if I am studying the right way.

I missed being able to do Suzanne's Plan by days and I feel I cannot postpone my test further out because I am on a personal leave from my job and they will not hold it for me forever. As I said, I'm using Saunders, ExamCram (which btw, is NOT a book made specifically for cramming, it is just a name), and other assorted books. Do I just do thousands of questions? Do I go back to Kaplan even though it didn't work for me the first time even though I followed the program exactly and got the scores they say are needed to pass? I'm at my wits end and feel like I'm going to have a mental breakdown.

To everyone that has failed their first attempt, I feel for you and I wish only that you pass the second time around. Can you share what you are doing differently to prepare for your second test?

Thank you all so much for your ideas and suggestions!!

According to the late Randy Pausch

"The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something."
