What were your practice scores like (and with which source)?

I'm curious to see how the grades on Saunders, NCLEX3500, Lippincott, etc... translate into passing (or failing) the NCLEX.

I got 60's and 70's on Saunders. But the questions on Saunders were nothing like the actual NCLEX for me.

Saunders: 83-88
RN3500 & Lippincott: 78-82
Davis: 80-81
Meds Pub & Drexel question bank: 78-88

passed NCLEX in 75 but was also a strong student...i think the practice tests are a great way to review / learn things not addressed in nursing curriculum but bottom line i think passing NCLEX is contingent on having a strong knowledge base, keeping patient safety in mind and not letting the test psyche you out...i found the questions to be very different than any practice test i had taken and i thought that i really had to pull my knowledge together to answer some of the questions...i left feeling numb because i could only think of the questions that i wasn't sure of...by the next day, though, i was feeling very confident in myself.

That is about where i am with my grades on the practice tests. My lowest grade has been 66 on a Saunders test and that scared me, but otherwise it's been low 70s. I've seen improvement in specific content areas, but the overall grades have stayed in that same range (depending on the breakdown of the test). I take the test 3 weeks from today.

I absolutely agree! A strong knowledge base from both school and review/practice questions is what it's all about.

I did Saunders and got anywhere from 60-100% on the quizzes and tests...I didn't care about my score so much, more about reading the rationales and building onto my knowledge base.

When I was preparing for the NCLEX-PN my test scores were soooo low, I was depressed. They indicated I would NOT pass the NCLEX!!!! Well I decides to not reveiw and did minimal studying for it and passed first time with only 75 questions!! Now I am getting ready for the NCLEX-RN and I don't plan to take any pre-tests. I am studying more this time though. I am using the Drexel DVD's and Kaplan book and Lippincott's NCLEX study guide. I also am following the thread here " Anyoone up for random Fact Throwing ". Participating as well as reading really is helping me moreso than anything in retaining the info.

I did Kaplan Complete which includes classroom and online training. Online consists of Question Trainer exams and Qbank questions.

My scores were:

QT 1: 64%
QT 2: 66%
QT 3: 58%
QT 4: 58%
QT 5: 55%
QT 6: 62%
QT 7: 58%

Qbank total score: 60%
Kaplan wants you to have at least a 60% on everything to guarantee passing.

I passed in 75 questions and 1.5 hours.

Also wanted to mention that I was a B student (which at our school was 86% to 92%).

I bought Kaplan Q bank and I would make tests of 50 new questions. I was anywhere from 45% to max 65%, not more than that. I practice the book test and did about 66%, and the companion CD with 180 questions, and I got 63% correct. I passed at 75 questions.
