What it takes to be a good nurse is not the same as what it takes to be a good test taker. I know some co-students I went to school with that passed with 75 questions and 8 years later still have weak clinical skills--I work with a few of them. As soon as I read your post, I knew you were a nurse at heart (you never give up, get back on the saddle, pull your resources, seek resolution, and do whatever it takes to complete the task). Congratulations!!

What a heart-wrenching but warming story. I hope you don't mind if I share the story with our seniors who are preparing for NCLEX (who are also sort of "I'll just see what happens").

Debbie - first off....CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!:ye ah:
I really want to thank you for sharing your story...I will be honest - overall I am a very good test taker and I am still doing pre-reqs so it will be a while before I am even thinking about NCLEX...BUTBUTBUT your story is a story that can be for everyone - not just people who aren't the world's greatest test takers and not just people taking the NCLEX... your story will stay with me because you showed an INCREDIBLE, INSPIRATIONAL example of keeping on when the going gets tough and never giving up - that is one fantastic lesson that can be applied to 8 million things besides the NCLEX... I am so grateful that you shared this and equally grateful that i was able to read it... my guess is you have touched more lives with this story of perseverance than you will ever know...

so - thank you for sharing this - and again, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!:b ow: You go Girl!!!!

Wow! this is very inspiring. Actually, I am into this situation right now. I had been sitting infront of THAT chair for four times already! I am soooo frustrated. I dont know what to do! I am actually looking for a review class but can't find one..(no class fits with my husband's schedule)... I am soooo desperate to pass.
