I need advice to help me concentrate more and a little prayer

I'm scheduled to take my boards on the 26th. of Aug. and as the day is coming closer and closer I find myself so fearful. Instead of buckling down to practice questions, I find myself distracted with either dirty dishes that are a mountain high in the sink because no one at home is considerate enough to help. In fact, my two teenage kids perfer to go hungry instead of fending for themselves to eat until I get over this excrutiating period of my life. Finally to top things off, I'm so scared.

Having said all that, I compound the problem by doing 30 questions or so at a time and becoming distracted with something else in the house. My God! is it possible that I have ADD?

At any rate, I welcome any advice or kind words of encouragement from all. Please keep me in your prayers to help me get through this hurtle in my life.

Thanks in advance.

God Bless you Shabbychic23. I pray that you have peace and clarity as you study for this demanding test. Don't you worry about the dishes or any other house duty. You just focus on studying and NOTHING ELSE! I know it is easier said than done but you can do this.

Hello my sista, first exhale, take a break, early in the morning throw chicken in the crock pot with some seasoning and you could add a little red or white cooking wine for flavor, cook on low for about 8 hrs. Add simple sides/veggie and pray. Dinner ready, teens eat, you more calmer and if need be study for 30- 60 minutes take another break. The plan is for you to conquer and not be conquerred by anything else. I been their, done that, and ready to give my all and do my best this coming friday on the NCLEX_RN. I am with you and my prayers are towards you.

I am in the same boat. The crock pot is a life-saver!!! But I can't focus on any topic too long or mind starts to wander, so I use the Random Facts to help me study. It forces me to read my old class notes then look up the info to post because I don't want to give bad info before NCLEX. I am soooo scared and nervous. But, the worst that can possibly happen is I fail and start Suzanne's Plan asap. To free my mind, first thing when I wake up I take care of 2 chores and then it's time to study, 1 hour reading, 1 hour looking up notes, then posting facts, lunch, 30 minutes of me time ( gotta take care of you too ), then reading again ( i.e nap time after a few minutes , Ha!Ha!Ha! ). Set a schedule and stick to it. I also find that bribary of my teenager to do chores works very well. Money talks. Good luck with your studies and on your exam.

Keep practising questions, however the day before your exam close the books, switch off the computer (yes that means keep away from here ) and relax your brain, spend time out and about with the family

Good luck

Sometimes we just need to exercise and eat right and we find that we have lots of energy to study and plan things better. make a schedule and stick to it. 1 hour of exercise eat right. Then plan your studying schedule post it up around the house. Do 100 Questions a day. If your religious The main thing is to PRAY! Hope this helps! Good Luck!
