I feel like burning most the LVN review books I bought as they did me no good what-so-ever on the NCLEX. The questions I got came out of left field. Stuff that wasn't taught in school like post mordum care for jewish men and questions about the Buhdist faith. I couldn't believe the questions I got. It felt like I guessed at half the questions. What a terrible feeling I have now. I have went threw the ENTIRE Saunders LNV review book and cd TWICE, that's 6,000 questions, as well as the kaplan review book, "lvn made easy", and the mosby cd. Total review questions and rationales done exceeded 8,000. Yet it didn't help me at all. Yes I read the rationales for ALL the questions/ answers. The NCSBN.ORG review was the only thing that helped me as the questions were similar to the NCLEX.

The VAST majority of question were priority questions. I had learned all the tricks to answer these in the Kaplan book. Only one big problem....the priority questions in kaplan are a complete joke (very easy) compared to the actual NCLEX ones which were brutal.

My computer shut off at 85 and I am positive I got the 85th question wrong because I looked it up when I got home. I hear if the computer stops at 85 and you miss the last question ...you most likely failed if you weren't doing so hot. I wanted to throw up when I left the testing center.

So hear I sit and have to wait 3 weeks to get result in CA. I will start checking the LVN board website next week, but I have a bad feeling my name won't be up there and I will have to take the NCLEX again.
I dont know if you passed as I have not read the entire thread yet, but today this was ME. I cried all the way home. I had the exact type of questions and realized there is really no way to study for this test.

    Hi everyone!
Well, it's been 3 weeks and 2 days and I have not receive my results. I took my NCLEX-PN on 3/31/08. After, talking to a friend, that drove down to Sacramento last Thursday (4/17/08)to get her results they say they were only working on March 20, 2008. I am assuming now it's going to take 4-5 weeks instead. I keep on checking online if my license number will pop up (assuming I pass) but nothing.

I believe they do not assign you a license number until you send them the license fee ($120.00) to get your license, assuming you live in California. But I keep hoping my name will pop-up. It's driving me crazy. I just want to know if I pass or not. It's hard to focus when you do not know.

My test consist of more than 10 but less than 15 SATA, 1 calu., 1 lab values, prioritizing, and patient's understanding. I felt sooooo awful and bad after the test. I can't believe how much SATA's questions I had and that's what freak me out and also the computer stopped at 85. Yikes!!!!!

Congrats to everyone that passed and good luck to everyone who's going to take their test.

Hello Khargia! It's been 4 weeks & 2 days for me and still no results. I should receive it by this weekend. I"m just sick of waiting. I had called them last week and they also said they were only working on the March 20 exams. I called them today and they said my results were already mailed. I just hope all the wait is worth it:uhoh21:

    Pinkypink,
What you're feeling right now is normal. I was studying like crazy as well and still felt like it wasn't enough. I didn't study 2 days before and I think it helped because I was totally calm during the exam. You'll be fine.

    Goodluck to all of us!!!

I had 85 and most were priority, planning, and pt teaching. I only had one calc and I can't say it was even hard.

I so sorry to hear that you felt all the LPN NCLEX study guides where a waste of time and money. As I've mentioned on previous threads they changed the tests as of April 1st and for the next few months we will be the guine pigs. My biggest fears was that all the study guids will be useless because they are based on past test. However with all your studying I am sure you passed. Ive heard that if the computer shuts of at 85 even if you got the 85th question wrong it means you passed. If you were failing it would have gone up to 200+. Anyway, I tried to look up study questions on NCSBN.ORG but I couldn't find any, could you please direct me to where the questions are. Thanks.

    I took the NCLEX-PN yesterday, 4/26.

I must have looked terrible, the receptionist at the testing center must have seen the look on my face. He kind of counseled me to calm me down. Said he use to be an 8th grade counselor. I seriously feel that helped me relax. He did that for about 10-15 mins.
Afterwards was a different story. I walked out of the testing center in a daze. Dont know whether to cry or scream. I had about 6-8 med, alot of priority questions, a good bit of select all that apply questions and a couple cultural questions. In which I know I got those cultural questions wrong. I was looking for a lot more questions related to med-surg. I had a few, but I started getting bummed out when I saw those SATA and priority questions coming back to back. I was ready to get up and leave because I figured if I continued getting those, I must be answering them wrong. I even got the same question asked twice, with only one of the selections different. I dont know what to think. Ive heard different people say different things about the kinds of questions you get. But I dont know. All I can do now is pray for the best. I dont feel terrible about the exam, but I dont feel great either. Good luck to everyone taking it next week.
