I just took the NCLEX - PN, my thoughts. - page 35

I feel like burning most the LVN review books I bought as they did me no good what-so-ever on the NCLEX. The questions I got came out of left field. Stuff that wasn't taught in school like post... Read More

I took the NCLEX PN yesterday...The computer stopped at 85 questions...but I have a terrible feeling in my gut that I failed...I guessed on MOST of the questions...I had some really hard questions that I had no idea on earth what the answer could possibly be and then I had easy questions...I had a ton of Select All That Apply questions which I had to guess on...I couldn't even make an educated guess because I couldn't even think of what the answer could be...I had about 10 med questions...I guess on all but probably got 2 right...I had no med calculations either...I also had a lot of priority type questions that I think I totally messed up on...the options are so hard to choose from! The 85th question was easy but I forgot what it asked...It took me about 2 hours to take the test...I didn't tell anyone in my family including my boyfriend that I took it yesterday...It's supposed to be a secret until I know I can tell them that I passed...The only people that know are some of my friends and classmates...I'm in california so the waiting starts now...I have read through some posts that we can log on to the website and check but then I have also heard that our name will not be posted ont he website until we pay the $120 to get our license (if we pass)...

"ALPHA" I took live in Ca. I took mine on the 12th. They kill us with all this waiting. It really sucks!!! Excuse my lang. I also turned off at 85 and had 2 math and meds I had no clue on. ALOT ALOT of priority and alot of select all's. I word of encouragement from what I heard is if your test was easy then it got harder the chances of you passing is high. But who really knows. Where did you test at???? Good luck to you and I will let you know when I get my results since I am a few days ahead of you.

Hey forgot to include in my last post! I know of 15 people that the computer shut off at 85 and out of those people only 1 person failed. And when he was in school our school dropped the passed rate so he could graduate. So keep your chin up and I think both of us will pass. Are you in southern cali?:bowingpur

I'm in NOrthern California...I took the NCLEX at the Pearson Center in San Jose. What about you? I hear a lot of things about the NCLEX but I know in my gut that I probably failed but also I keep trying to tell myself not to think about it so much and to wait for my letter...But I can't wait that long! It's only been one day and it's killing me! I still can't believe that California doesn't offer the Quick Results option. Hey but thanks for the words of encouragement...It just feels like that I studied and prepared wrong for this exam...My exam had easy and hard questions but mostly hard...it would haev a lot of hard and then like one easy question and it would do that throughout the whole test...but anyway...I'll keep you posted as well...GOOD LUCK!

I know exactly how you feel, took my nclex last monday (Feb 12), mine stopped at 85 too, and darn at first I really dont have any idea how I the exam would come up. Got a lot of SATA, no priorities, lots of meds, and a number of computations.

The good thing is just I only have to grieve for only two days to know whether I pass or not. Got my unofficial result from pearson last friday and found out that I pass. Thank God.

I know the wait for you guys is really tormenting....but I guess, you can find comfort in the fact that shutting off at 85 is a good omen. Keep your fingers crossed. Goodluck to both of you guys!!!!

I took it in southern California. Glendale! The first time I felt so horrible when I lefted pearson testing center. I took 205 questions and I was so bummed out! My bllod sugar was in the low 40's my head just killing me and dizzy as heck. I had to drive almost 3 hrs and still to this day I don't know how I made it home! This time I was sick the whole morning and when I sat down for my test I just kept telling myself relax. It helped alot. I don't know if the reason I was better was cause I knew what to expect! I know Ca really sucks for making us wait! They are putting us through hell. Excuse my lang. But once again good luck and let me know how it goes!!!

Congrats to you!! They wait kills us people from Cali. I'm sure I speak for everyone! I heard alot of people pass at 85. I still have my doubts though!! Do you know anything about the pilot questions that are not suppose to count against you? We were told there are 15-25 questions that they throw on the test to see if they should use them on future test. Does anyone know about that??? Is that true??? Well good luck to all and I will not know until around March 8 if California is on time sending out the results...:bowingpur

Hey guys, I'm in Northern Calif and I took my test on Feb 1st and it too shut off at 85, and I walked out of there feeling numb, and like I failed. I feel just like you guys do. Its hard waiting, all I can think about is this awful test.

You haven't gotten any results yet? I am sure you passed. Did you get alot of math or drugs or select all that applies? I kow what you are going through it has not even been a week yet for me and I'm so tired of waiting. Let us know when you get the results. I heard it's like 3 wks and 4 days around there....

Hello everyone! and Hello, to my friend, Alpha Dog. I know exactly how all of you feel and it's good to know that we have each other's support. I, too, took my test yesterday and felt as if i knew nothing at all. So, i sat there and i kept telling my nerves to calm down =) and did my best--already, on the first ten, i was a nervous wreck because i was just guessing through it and went with an answer that i thought was best. There was a few that i did take a while on but figured that i will get 50/50 chance of getting it right. My questions had a few easy ones and far too many of which i had no clue what the term meant or what it is even asking; especially, the SATA ones. How could i even select an answer if i didn't even know what it's really asking? I felt so terrible and couldnt really say if there's any other way to study for this. Therefore, i had many SATA, medications that i have never heard of and also a good amount of priority. BTW, i finished the exam in about an hr, that is too soon huh? i felt that i couldnt help but went through it and before i knew it, it stopped at 85. HELP. I wanted more. After the test, i didn't feel much and it was probably because i was still in shock. It didn't really kick in till i got home. " I didn't make it, how could i pass it if i guessed on almost all the questions?" i kept asking myself that over and over. Anxiety and fear continues...I live here in CA so the wait is going to kill me.....
PS. Someone mentioned about the 25 questions that was supposed to be thrown out--i read it somewhere in our packet that they do but it's random questions so we had to do our best when it comes to any question.
I am so worried....But i also know that God is with us all.

Well good luck on passing! Hopefully we all pass and get this behind us. I'm sure you did good. Yes I also heard they are random questions and we will never know what ones are the pilot questions. I also had 5 or 6 meds I NEVER heard of!!! I don't understand how we are suppose to know all of the meds. There are way to many to know. I had heard to watch tv and alot of the meds that are on tv are on the test and thats what I did. When I seen them on tv I wrote them down and looked them all up. Andy of course not one of those meds were on the test! I really think it's luck of the draw! How in the heck are we suppose to study for the test. Everything I studied seemed like it wasn't on the test. Well, good luck... Where in Cali do you live???
