Congratulations BigB!!!!! I also live in Palmdale, California. I take the NCLEX on 2/16/05. I just finished Delmar NCLEX and am halfway through Mosby's. Should I just throw it away, based on what you said. I did not get Kaplan, but maybe I should, only have four weeks left and am so nervous. Since we do not have access to the quick result option (two days to find out if you passed) how did you find out and how long did it take. California is the slowest I guess from what I've read. Thanks for any advice you can give. I was getting 80's on my review tests until I got to the pharmacology in Mosby's and only got 71%. Now I'm worried I won't pass this thing. How hard was it????? Thanks for any help. Nervous Older Nursing Student in California
Yes , Kaplan RN book and www.NCSBN.org learning extention are the only two reviews that I noticed that helped me get my LVN license. Mosby, Suanders etc is just regurgitated nursing content I learned in school.

I took NCLEX-PN on December 28 and received my result in the mail from the California B.O.N. on January 9. All in all, it took about 12 days.
I had to wait 26 days...i hate you !! kidding of course. =)

I am now wondering what happend with popcorn. does anyone know?
I think he might have failed. He recently sent me a PM asking how and where to find a particular review book, so that's an ominous sign. After all, why would an individual show interest in another review book unless he/she needs to retake the NCLEX?

Nonetheless, my fingers remain crossed for Popcorn.

Commuter, do you know where you want to work yet?
I am still in the process of trying to establish residency in Texas and endorse the California license into Texas. But I will initially work anywhere I feel welcome.

Well, I purposely took my boards after the Christmas holiday, thinking that Sacramento would process my results slightly faster. :chuckle

    OK, y'all, I take the NCLEX-PN on 2/2/06..
Did anyone use the ATI testing system?
  9. by MimismomRN
I don't know what that system is? I take mine on 2/16 and I used Delmar, Mosby's (still in Mosby's) and will probably get Kaplan.

    www.atitesting.com

it's a computerized version review that gives you sample tests and then gives you rationales for wrong answers etc... I guess it is relatively new, our school just got it this past year.
If you take a composite test, it will give you a NCLEX predictor, ie, if it thinks you will pass or fail.

I too just took the NCLEX PN along with another friend. I totally agree with what you saying about feeling like you had to guess or never seen the information. I studied alot. I have 2 friends that took it though and felt exactly like you and shut off at 85 but passed. 1 shut off at 102 passed, 1 at 107 passed, and one at 95 passed. Today I shut off at 130 and feel incompetent. My friend shut off at 85. We are scared to death. We wouldnt even know where to begin to re-take. We cant sleep, eat, or breath. :imbar I work as a LPN-shadow at a nursing home, and I will not only flunk the NCLEX, but lose my job as well. I am devastated after taking that test. I would never sugar coat it. We did have one girl who shut off at 102 and failed. I feel like Ill be joining her soon. I will know by Friday for sure as I tested in GA.

I feel like burning most the LVN review books I bought as they did me no good what-so-ever on the NCLEX. The questions I got came out of left field. Stuff that wasn't taught in school like post mordum care for jewish men and questions about the Buhdist faith. I couldn't believe the questions I got. It felt like I guessed at half the questions. What a terrible feeling I have now. I have went threw the ENTIRE Saunders LNV review book and cd TWICE, that's 6,000 questions, as well as the kaplan review book, "lvn made easy", and the mosby cd. Total review questions and rationales done exceeded 8,000. Yet it didn't help me at all. Yes I read the rationales for ALL the questions/ answers. The NCSBN.ORG review was the only thing that helped me as the questions were similar to the NCLEX.

The VAST majority of question were priority questions. I had learned all the tricks to answer these in the Kaplan book. Only one big problem....the priority questions in kaplan are a complete joke (very easy) compared to the actual NCLEX ones which were brutal.

My computer shut off at 85 and I am positive I got the 85th question wrong because I looked it up when I got home. I hear if the computer stops at 85 and you miss the last question ...you most likely failed if you weren't doing so hot. I wanted to throw up when I left the testing center.

So hear I sit and have to wait 3 weeks to get result in CA. I will start checking the LVN board website next week, but I have a bad feeling my name won't be up there and I will have to take the NCLEX again.

I have a friend who used the ATI system and still had the same questions like Saunders, Mosby, and Lippencott review. Listen to BigB and try those others along with your ati
