I failed NCLEX-RN, should I retake kaplan again?

I just found out I didn't pass the NCLEX-RN (it took 3 weeks to find out the results). I took Kaplan and studied for about 5 weeks. I completed everything--& still failed.

I have a job offer with Kaiser Permanente and they are willing to hold my job for me if I pass the 2nd time around. But, they're are only giving me 3 weeks to study, I have to take it by Oct 28.

I'm so confused. Should I retake kaplan? What should I do? There's soo much pressure!!

Help!

What are your qtrainer and qbank scores? did you completed all of it? did you watched all the content and question review videos and read the book that came with it? I took kaplan and that's what i did and i passed the nclex-rn with 75 questions.

I did everything!! all the qbank and qtrainers, content videos, and read the book. my scores averaged around 55-58. I don't know if I should get a refund, or take the course again?

I failed the exam with 75q.

Other things that I did was, when I did all the questions I review them whether i get them right or wrong not just the wrong ones. I made flash cards on all the common and or major diseases ( example: DKA vs. HHNDS, Diabetes insipidus vs. SIADH, Cushing syndrome vs. Addison's disease, hypothyroidism vs. hyperthyroidisn etc.... must know the sign&symptoms of these diseases), I also focus on infection control, I made a list on all the diseases that are contacted via airborne, made a list on all diseases contacted via droplet precautions etc...most of all , I watched the pharmacology videos and made flash cards on all most common medications out there and memorized the side effects of them. If these didn't work for you, maybe Kaplan is not for you. I wish you the best of luck, you will beat nclex soon. Hang in there.

If you have already done Kaplan, then I would probably take the refund and put it towards a different study option. I've heard Exam Crams are good to use, and they come with CD's that have a lot of practice questions.

I agree with previous poster...do not waste your money on Kaplan again. GET YOUR FULL REFUND and put that money towards Exam Cram or NCSBN's website (http://ncsbn.hivelive.com/hives/534b38552a/summary). Exam Cram has a cd on the back of the book with a mock NCLEX exam that tells you if you're in pass or fail range, and NCSBN are the ones who come up with questions for NCLEX

I did the same!
I did all the Q-bank and trainers twice, untill i had 0 wrong
watched the content videos, and took questions soon after watching each section plus read the book two or three times.
I took 3 months to study, and passed at 75Q

plus, when bored of kaplan, I listened to the helen feuer cd's of review content, that i even remembered her jokes and little stories.

if you did not do kaplan with a thousand percent effort, i would tell you to retake it again, and do it with all your heart but take your time to it, and definitely not rush into it.

The issue is not retaking kaplan but to review your content. wish you all the best!

wow, consider yourself lucky because you already have a job! Anyway, when I was getting around 55-58% correct on my Kaplan qbank, I stopped using it. I focused on the Kaplan RN course book to study basic content and since then I was getting 60-67% and even got 75% and 85%. So try focusing on content and see what happens.
