Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi Guys,

After taking my test I did the pvt for about 20 times within 38 hours and was getting the good pop based on this I thought I passed. The next day I did the pvt again and got the cc page I am so shocked I can't belive it. I haven't been sleeping and I am so down and depressed it was my third time how can pvt be so unrelaible? What is wrong or going on? Wasn't the 24 SATA with 85 questions a good sign? I am so lost, confused and do not know what to do. All I did was crying. I have talked to my professors and some recomended writing a complaint letter I just do not know how to prove them because I did the pvt what am I suppose to say in my complaint? Please help me with this letter in my heart I feel that I passed but how to prove they will tell me pvt is not relaible but what about 24 sata? oh god I do not know any more I am not a good complaint writter please help me desperetlly seeking your help.

Thank you

Karen

ibut, there is no absolute that a person who struggles because of test anxiety, or language difficulties, or the inability to choose between a handful of answers that are all arguably 'right' is not a capable nurse.

i would argue that anyone who is incapable of passing the nclex in three tries because of language difficulties does not have the grasp of the language necessary to practice safely as a nurse.

I have hearing issues and yes I was born in the states. I hope you don't mind someone like me being member of this forum. As for your information I am also half black is there other concerns?

speaking only for myself, i don't give a rip if you're half black or if you're red and white striped or simply polka dotted. not an issue. and for the purposes of this forum and this thread, your "hearing issues" are not pertinent, either. what is pertinent is that you have failed the nclex three times, and you thought it was unfair because you "knew in your heart" that you had passed. you're going to take it a fourth time, but as late as a few posts upthread, you had no plans to change the way you study or what you study. you dismiss out of hand anyone who disagrees with you or who says anything you don't want to hear -- however well-intentioned such comments may have been.

if you manage to pass the nclex and then manage to land a job, are you also going to dismiss out of hand anything your preceptor says to correct you? because you're not indicating here on this thread an ability to process information that disagrees with what you "know in your heart" and learn from it.

What Ruby Vee said.

I really can't add any more to that.

I didn't ask about your hearing. I didn't ask about your ethnicity. I didn't question whether or not you should be a member of this forum. I only asked about whether English was your native language because frankly, your writing style suggested it might not be. That WAS being kind, but you missed it, I guess. Never mind, carry on.

The reason why I stated I have hearing problem is for you to know that people who struggle with hearing always have problem with sentence sturcutre we always put verbs backwards or forwards. If that caused confusion I apologize.

Karen, you can ask for this thread to be closed by a moderator. I think you have all the answers you need from this thread. We all wish you the best of luck in passing the NCLEX, I'm sure.

To those of you who post disparaging comments to anyone on message boards, through email, or in discussion groups--think about the person behind the name. It's very easy to make nasty, insulting comments when you're not facing the actual person. Imagine for a moment that Karen is standing in front of you... look into her eyes, study her face as you spew your insults. Would you refrain if you saw the hurt?

No matter what you think or feel about a situation, being cruel and unkind serves no purpose. Isn't this the behavior we all complain about in the workplace when we talk about other nurses 'eating their young'? When we read news stories of young people driven to suicide because of the rejection and unkindness of others, we empathize and are rightfully intolerant of cruel behaviors... but somehow we never see our own guilt.

Think before you speak or write. Imagine someone saying such things to you... or your sister... or little brother.

My understanding is that the NCLEX is a computerized test; no hearing required. As far as your ethnicity, that's a non sequitur in relation to your arguments about why you didn't pass the test.

I'm not bashing you, but I wanna clarify, Not everyone with hearing difficulties has problems with language..one of my friends is hearing impaired and she speaks and writes just fine. Not bashing, just saying don't paint such a broad brush. Anyway I think this thread has seen it's day..night.
