Hurst Online Review, what are your thoughts?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi everyone,

I graduated from a foreign nursing school in 2009. I didn't take NCLEX right away (don't ask why). Well, that was 3 years ago, and I felt like I've forgotten most of what I learned in school. Now I'm doing NCLEX review on my own. I have Saunders, Kaplan, and Lacharity books (along with all the nursing books I've had in school), and I still feel like it's not enough. So I'm thinking of taking the Hurst Online Review. For those of you who have taken the online review, what was it like? Did you feel like it helped you? Any comments, thoughts and feelings about the online review is greatly appreciated. I'd also be grateful if you can share any advice, or recommendation in passing NCLEX for people like me who have been stagnant for a while. Thank you.

I took Saunders Online Review Course for the NCLEX-RN Examination, 4 week course. I passed the NCLEX on the 1st attempt, and I was cut off at 75 questions. A friend who graduated at the same time took Hurst course and did not pass the NCLEX. I recommended the Saunders course to her. She took it and passed on her 2nd attempt. While a variety of variables are likely involved in my scenario, I have heard that Hurst focuses much more on raw content than critical-thinking/strategy. The course I took integrates the two. I also hear it's much more expensive.
