I have taken the NCLEX twice. I had 75 questions the first time and failed. The second time I had 260 questions and failed. I took the Davis review class, and also had the Kaplan online questions. I am wondering what I should do to prepare for the third time. I have had suggestions that I should take another review course.

Any input is appreciated.

OMG you are scaring me.

I am about to take it for the first time and I am very nervous.

My classmates who graduated a semester before me (I stayed behind because I missed one day of clinicals :0( ), all took the kaplan course and they all passed.

So I am taking the kaplan course and am doing everything that kaplan tells me.

You need to figure out what your weak areas are,
and I definitely suggest you get the kaplan book they sell at the store, it tells you how to break down the question even if you have no idea what the answer is.

I am nervous as *%@! but I am going to study like crazy, because I do not want to take this test again.

I have a 1 1/2 year old baby girl who is a handful, and I have to study at night.

but make sure you understand what areas you are weak at, then start from there.

I will be taking it a third time and Im using the sticky at the top of the thread New revised first tip of Suzanne plan check it out. alot of people have passed using her plan good luck. Use one book with the cd that is it.

I saw that plan, and I do have the saunder's book that she recommends.
When I do the saunder questions, I almost get 90% most of the time. The saunders, I find it to be quite easier than the kaplan course.

You have to focus on the rationale whether its right or wrong. that is the key.

You need to understand the rationale on the questions you are getting wrong. Take the time to read the question but don't get carried away with time that you run out. You do know your stuff otherwise you would not have completed schooling. Try doing a couple of test situations ie x amount of questions in x amount of time and see how you do. If you have the time to do Suzanne's plan then would recommend it, you will need approx 2-3 months ish set aside
