How soon to take my NCLEX?

Hey guys I am a nervous wreck right now and I think I need some guidance. So here is the background. I graduate in Dec 12th and will start my GN job on Jan 16 in a different city. I will be moving in also. I only need a GN permit to work but I was hoping to take the nclex before I start so I don't have to worry about it during the move and starting work. Is that too early? I've scheduled the following to help me with the process.

Dec 15-17th Hurst review

Dec 18th - Jan 4th: NCSBN reviews and ATI online prep with a coach (maybe Saunders book instead?)

Jan 5-8th Kaplan in seat review

Jan 9th & 10 practice questions of ncsbn, kaplan, hurst and saunders

nclex some time between the 11th and 15th.

How does that sound? I already signed up for an apartment, in retrospect that is stupid. I'm worried if I fail I wont have a job and thats a big problem.

I fail nclex 3 times and I think it's because I strength out my studying and I was never that type of person my advice to u is you know better than anyone how much time u require to get prepared for an exam... So if u can do it in that time frame go for it and if u go in nervous it will mess you up my first time after the computer passed 75 I was such a nervous wreck my mind went blank so calm down a go and murder it... You can do it!

It depends on your state BON, school, and Pearson. There will be a lot of graduates in December. Your school needs to process your graduation paperwork and send it to your state BON. Your state BON will be busy in January, so it may take longer for them to process your application. In addition, you can't schedule a date at Pearson until you have your ATT. Pearson will be busy in January (they also provide testing for hundreds of other professions).

I graduated in August, so there were less graduates and it still took 5 weeks after graduation to take NCLEX.

I applied for PearsonVue a week before Thanksgiving, I'm not sure if that is early enough. My school does ATI predictor tests instead of HESI and I received a 95% predictability of passing nclex on the first try. I don't know if that is reliable or not.

It doesn't matter when you set up an account with Pearson Vue. You wont have access to available test dates until you get your Authorization to Test (ATT) from your state BON. Once you have your ATT, you can go onto PearsonVue website and see the available test sites, dates, and times. Like I said it took 5 weeks from graduation to the first available test date.

It would be stressful to start a job and the expectation of passing NCLEX as soon as possible, but I had a 99% probability on the ATI Comp. Predictor, spent 3 weeks doing 100-150 questions per night and passed at 75 questions. I would say if you studied hard and comprehended the material, you should do well on the test. I wouldn't pass up a job. It can be very difficult for a new grad to find their first job.
