hi! so i am graduating on the 10th of December (56 days to go baby yeah!!) & i am taking Kaplan from 14Dec to 17Dec, when is a good time to sit for NCLEX-RN? I was to take it ASAP so I can get done & move on in my career...you know the story. I know the holidays will be sneaking up on me but we have nothing major planned on purpose just the usual relaxing Christmas at home stuff...so should I test in early January? late December?

any of you graduate(d) in December & have insight to lend, would be great! thanks in advance

I've asked that question myself but honestly there isn't really a time to give you. It's different for everyone because of their confidence, situation, and everything else. I'm a May graduate so I didn't have the holidays to worry about so I took my time. However, if you're confident with your knowledge, you should take it as soon as possible after graduation. If your not to confident or a worry-wart like me, you can review using a review book, learning Kaplan's Decision Tree, signing up for Learning Extensions (NCSBN), and then taking the exam. It honestly depends on you.

One more thing, if you failed the first time but took it early, you'll be able to take it again the 2nd time sooner and still be in the job pool. I have a couple of friends who failed taking it later, passed the 2nd, but are having a harder time finding jobs than my other classmates (or they already have contacts for the Nov/Dec hiring time).

Go at your pace and take nclex when you feel it's right for you. Best of luck to you!!

its really you who can determine it. Most take it 2 months after graduation, some want to take it right now. i would start doing questions now by the time graduation hits youll be more ready

Are you going to start using your online Kaplan access weeks before your class starts? Then you'll be ready sooner after your class ends.
