How many times can I take the NCLEX-PN?

Hello - I've attempted the NCLEX-PN twice and I'm having a lot of trouble passing them. I'm about to sign up for my 3rd test, and believe I'm soo scared of taking it.. Mostly scared of failure! But my question is.. Can you only take the NCLEX a certain amount of times before you need to go back to school or how does that work?

Thanks in advance!

The number of times you can take it before you have to take a review class varies from state to state. I would check with your board of nursing

Some states allow unlimited attempts. Others have a limited number of tries, but that number varies. If you max out, there are states that will ask for a remedial course. Others want you to take the entire course again.

At the bottom of the page is a link to the state boards of nursing. Seek out your state to find the rules that apply to you.

Best wishes.

You will have to contact the board of your state to find out what applies to you.
