How many questions do you get right?

On NCLEX, does anyone know what the average number you get right are to pass? I know they say you should get about 75% when you're studying. I'm wondering about the boards. Thanks if anyone knows!

NCLEX is computer adapted testing. It is not just a percentage of questions you get correct, but also the difficulty of the questions you get right. Due to the computer adaptive testing at work, the average NCLEX candidate answers about 50 percent of actual test questions correctly. If you answer a question correctly, your next question will be a higher-level one. If you answer a question incorrectly, your next question will be an easier one. The computer is actually adapting based on your responses.

Thank you- I'm familiar with the CAT. I just wasn't sure if there's a certain percent on average that people get correct.

Yes - 50%. Most people get to a point where they are answering 50% of the questions correctly. The key is to get questions at a difficulty level above the passing standard.
