How long for NCLEX-PN results with criminal history?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hi there...I just took the NCLEX-PN in California on 3/26/07. I also had a minor incident in the past which requires my results to go through the enforcement unit at the board. After speaking with the enforcement unit they told me it takes the unit 3-4 to receive my results plus however long it takes to process and send it out to me. They said I will probably have to wait at least 5 more weeks for my results (vice the typical 2-3 weeks my classmate have received theirs in). My question is: Is there anyone else out there with a criminal history and how did it effect the amount of time it took to receive your results? It just doesn't sound right that if results can be mailed out within 2-3 weeks, why would it take that long for the enforcement unit to receive them within the same building....Thank you...

Tina...maybe yours got processed before mine...Don't lose hope yet!!! Let me know what they say.

Somehow I missed your last post...I was just going to write what you just wrote. I recalled you mentioning how they told you they were making sure you "weren't a threat to society". PLUS they just processed my results TODAY. That means no matter what, yours were processed before mine. With that being said...It is quite possible yours was just further along in the process than mine. When they told you, "before we issue your license we need to make sure......", yours could've already been at the analyst. I am truely hoping the best for you!!! Hang in there! It should only be another day or so.

nurse2bmom thanks for all your support. this has been 4 wks of misery. I hope the best for both of us, because i do not want to go through this again.

tina...Have you heard anything??

nurse2bmom I got my results today. I failed :( THIS IS THE WORST EVER. NOW I HAVE TO SEND $75 TO REAPPLY. AND $200 FOR THE TEST. THIS HAS REALLY SET ME BACK. I ALSO HAVE TO SEND COURT & POLICE RECORDS IN 30 DAYS. NOW I AM BACK TO STUDYING.

I am soooo sorry to hear that. I really was hoping you passed. BUT! Just take a few days to get through the rough part, then, try to think about your study plan for this time. The advantage this time is you already know what the questions are like now. I'm not sure what you used last time to study, but, it seems that Suzanne's plan on this site is pretty good. I still don't know 100% if I passed, but, I used the Saunder's review book. I went chapter by chapter and answered all of the quizzes at the end (without reviewing the chapter first). (By the way, this is the first step of Suzanne's plan). Then I went back and reviewed my weak points. I also read all rationales, even for correct answers I felt I needed refresher on. I did some of the quizes and exams on the CD's also. I reviewed lab values, normal vitals, maslow's, med calculations, fire safety, and I read some of these posts where they give you test taking strategies. I didn't go into a whole lot of meds cuz I suck at them and didn't want to take up too much time that I didn't have, to memorize a bunch of stuff that I most likely wouldn't end up gettting. If you have time though, I would just go over the main ones for different disorders. By the way, when I came back from taking the test, I looked up some of the answers that came directly out of the Saunder's book. I have confidence that you will have no problem this time around. I know it doesn't make you feel any better, but, if you have any other questions or need to vent feel free to PM me.

By the way, why do you have to send all of your court documents and stuff AGAIN?

Since the topic of the original post was how long to get results with a criminal history, it has been well answered.

Each case is completely different and the BON for that jurisdiction is the only one to issue final order in this matter.

Please also be aware that the internet is not as anonymous as you think that it is.
