I don't think you will ever be able to challenge the LVN boards with CNA experience.

Last I heard, only military medics can challenge the LVN boards, and even that may have changed.

Is the OP in CA? CA has some odd program (and they are only state in the US that does, as far as I know) that allows CNAs who meet certain requirements about experience to write the NCLEX-PN without attending nursing school.

I do not know the answer.

I do know that until this year, NYS allowed students in RN programs to sit for the NCLEX-PN if they completed a certain percentage of their RN program. That changed this year, and my understanding of the ruling is that only people who have graduated from an approved PN program could write the exam. This would seem to hold true for everyone; that in order to sit for PN licensing exam, one must have graduated from a PN program.

And again, this is NYS. I cannot speak for other states criteria.

If you live in CA it is something like 51 months. But you have to complete a Pharm course. I don't think you can move your license to another state if you choose this option . If I were you I would not cut my education short . This is definitely not a equivalent of a LVN program and I just cant believe that CA still allows this program.... If you live in any other state I am almost positive you are out of luck.

I would venture to think that even if by some REMOTE chance you are allowed to take the LPN boards, you will not be able to pass. I just don't think you will have the knowledge base that LPNs acquire in their study. Don't ever take an NCLEX exam for granted, RN or PN!!
