Here's my take on the NCLEX. I went in there and I was nervous. I sat down and despite the things on my ears to drown out noise, I could hear a truck beeping outside. Distraction. Several people got up and walked behind me. Distraction. Someone had really strong perfume (I'm allergic to fragrances) and walked behind me. Distraction. I got to 92 (I think) questions and it shut off. I thought about it and thought about it. For me, it didn't matter how much I studied. I KNEW the information. I just had to in that moment calm myself down enough to process the information and use it. It's the same if you have a critical situation. There will be LOTS of distraction. You KNOW what to do. But can you recall it? I think that's what the NCLEX is assessing. My 2 cents.
