I'm in the middle of scheduling my NCLEX and will most likely travel to get an earlier test date (like two weeks earlier!) It's looking like I'll end up driving 2-4 hours depending on the site I end up scheduling at.

This made me wonder, how far have others traveled to take their NCLEX earlier?

I traveled about 60-65 miles away. That was the nearest testing center. I had to wait for 3 weeks till I could test at that center.

As you can probably see I live in a rural area. I will have to travel 150 miles to the testing center in Denver. Of course I travelled 110 miles to attend classes! No big deal.... My test date is July 10th. When did you test?

Only traveled 45 minutes...there was one closer...but no one likes to test there.

Like 5 miles, I'm lucky enough to live in the capital city :)

The closest date I could get to test was one month! It has been the longest month of my life! I feel like the longer I wait the more information is slipping out of my brain. I do questions every day I do not work and the more I study the more I feel like I do not know! I wish Colorado had more test centers. July 10th is not going to get here fast enough!

Will only be travelling about 15 minutes as I live in a capital city with two testing centers.

Adn there are those where the exam is not even offered in their own country so the travel becomes much more intense.

I can only imagine having to travel to another country! That would make the process much more stressful. I guess when you think about that, living in a rural area is not so bad!

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

All 3 times I took the exam I had to travel to the US, now it can be done abroad but even then some people still have to travel to another country to sit the exam and get a tourist visa to do it in a lot of cases
