How did you celebrate???

by AmyD_RN

One of the things that I like to do in between study sessions is think of how I am going to tell everyone (family and friends) that I passed this test! Or how I am going to treat myself when it is all over! It's like winning the Lottery!

I just wanted to hear what you all have done!

I just found out this afternoon and decided I wanted to go out with my hubby and three boys to a nice steak dinner. Funny thing was, I wasn't expecting my license to be there. I was just convinced that I had failed because I didn't feel like I knew any of the questions. I ended up giving myself a headache from crying when I found out that I passed. I wish they wouldn't put us all through that and just let the computer tell us whether or not we passed when it shuts off. How many others think that idea would be much more beneficial to all those poor souls who get ulcers waiting for results? Anyway, we went out for a lovely steak dinner and I even got treated to a piece of cheescake for dessert! I'm thinking of you all and wish you all the best of luck and hope your results are quick in getting to you!!

You are right Ericka! The computer should let you know that you've passed right then and there. I am currently a Registered Dietitian and soon to be a Registered Nurse ,too. I took my RD boards 6 years ago at the Sylvan Center and as soon as I finished my exam and survey , a message came up "CONGRATULATIONS, YOU'VE PASSED!" I was so elated. I cannot describe the feelings. I went in nervous and came out OVERJOYED! I WISH THE NCLEX WILL ONE DAY do this same thing.Rozy

I spent money of course. I treated myself to a killer CD stereo with the works.

...yeah, it could be a safety issue that we aren't given our results at the testing center.

...How I celebrated? After wearing white student nurse scrubs, I got some bright scrub tops to go with my white uniform pants. Make sure you are able to wear colors at your job b/f you spend $$.

Nurse Re: How did you celebrate???
Hi

I used to think about how I would celebrate and how good it would be to say "I passed" when I was studying too!

That time has come! Although I had to work too long days when I knew the result which was so annoying!

Today has been my first day off since knowing and I have twiddled my thumbs not knowing what to do with myself!! I have been working full time and studying in any spare time for about 4 months! Its so nice to just relax and do nothing!!!!

Enjoy celebrating all!

I took my family [Husband, Daughter 19, Son 15, son 13, and son 10] to Applebee's. I had a fancy margarita and then the cheap one. The cheap one was better! That was on Thursday. On the following Monday I was fired!!

So I really haven't gone out with my friends and celebrated like I wanted to. I am too angry!!

Oh well, live and learn.[still unemployed but looking.]
