Students NCLEX

For those that have done the NCSBN's review, what do you guys think? What were your results after taking NCLEX? I'm contemplating on purchasing it versus taking Hurst or Kaplan, I'm on a budget so that's why I'm on the edge of doing the review, any insight will help. Thanks in advance

Personally after NCLEX... Just purchase he NCSBN for practice questions. Even just the $50 three week one! Then hammer the questions those last few weeks. I think that using Saunders or something to review content or procedures is good. Know your lab values and get the Lacharity book for priority questions. The kaplan book is sufficient enough as well (at least for me.) I think it was $35?

But honestly - you've spent all of nursing school prepping for this exam. Know your procedures (all your check offs etc), know how to prioritize, and know your lab values.

Everyone will say something different tho:)

Hello everybody. I'm in the same situation!! I failed the first time with 265 questions. I used Hurst, Kaplan and some chapters from PDA. This time I read like 80% Saunders, I'm reading Hurst again, doing Kaplan Focused Reviews, PDA and Lippicott's Alternate Format questions, but If I do the Kaplan QBANK and question Trainers I won't have time to do NCSBN before my next try next month (24 days 😱😱😰😰). I will appreciate feedbacks from NCSBN. Thank you!

I used the NCSBN website solely for about 2-3 weeks as preparation for the NCLEX and I passed in 75 questions. Please don't waste your time reviewing content unless you keep getting a certain type of question wrong that pertains to a specific topic. Do every question on the site and you will be well prepared. When I used the site, I think there was about 2000 questions and I did every single one of them, as well as reading every rationale whether I got the question right or not. Active learning is what it was all about for me!

FLNurse - your problem may have been that you spent too much time "reading". This is not an exam you can "study" for. My thought was that the NCLEX was actually pretty easy, but obviously you will hear something different from every person you talk to. To best prepare for the exam, just do questions. And do as many as you can possibly handle up until you take the exam.

Thank you for your advices!!! I will start doing only questions today until the exam day. I will buy the NCSBN because I have heard many positive things about it. The true is that I have read a Lot!!! And I don't feel well prepared because I haven't done many questions. I really appreciate your advices!!

I have heard great things about NCSBN. The questions seem more challenging and if you can do well on them, you have a great chance of passing the NCLEX.

4aNurse thank you for your advice!! I already bought the 3 Weeks. I started reading the content and I got 80% in the first lesson post-test but the content is long!! So, I decided to do only questions from the banks and I'm getting 70%, I need to improve a little more. I'm planning to practice only questions from NCSBN and the Kaplan QBANK and Trainers. I have 22 days left and I feel like I haven't practiced enough questions. I have read a lot of content, and I'm a slow reader. That was the same mistake that caused my failure in my first try after 265 questions!! I'm having panic attacks every time I think about this exam!!!! I'm getting 55-69 in Kaplan. I can't wait to pass this exam!!! This is sooo stressful!!!😩😩😩
