failing at 1st attempt = can't be RN in California?

Is it true that you can't be a RN in California if you failed the NCLEX-RN exam at first attempt?

I just saw on it on the website
http://www.pulsejobs.com/usa/working...amination.aspx

"
HOWEVER, please be aware that failure to pass the NCLEX-RN® Exam ‘the first time around’ will preclude you from ever gaining registration in the state of California, even if you pass it in subsequent sittings."

Is this true?

California does not have "registration", they have licensure. (unless this website is talking about a temporary?). You can obtain licensure in CA if you have passed after failing numerous times.

Definitely not true. I failed multiple times and still got my license without any problems.

Thanks for the reassuring replies.

It did seem unlikely, but test anxieties always make horrible things seem plausible.
