Failed NCLEX yesterday...any tips for studying?

I just found out that I failed the NCLEX RN test yesterday I am so dissapointed! I did the Kaplan review and thought that would be enough but obviously it wasn't! I am in complete denial, and I am still checking the site to see if it changes to PASS! It is so frustrating to go through 2 years of nursing school and then fail! I am looking for any suggestions to help me study and to pass the next time around!
Thanks

How many practice questions did you do? As far as your Kaplan class went... Did you do all the question trainers & the whole Qbank? I think once we know what you did to study the first time, we can give you better advice. Try and keep your hopes up. Many people don't pass on their first try. You just gotta get back to studying & try again.

Kaplan has such a good reputation for pass rate but still students fail. Did you finish qbank and question trainers ?

I would be taking my nclex in a month and I am studying from kaplan too along with saunders and now I am

confused by your post

Jollygirl -

Kaplan has a wonderful reputation, although it's not infallible. I used Kaplan (almost solely). I did all the question trainers & all the qbank & passed with 75. Just keep studying & reading the rationales for every question (whether you get it right or not). Good luck!

Thanks for the optimism....I attended the Kaplan class and did all the test trainers but not all of the Qbank questions. I did not use any other material to study and I think that is where I went wrong maybe. Now that I have had to think about the questions today I feel like an idiot because I think it was the "easy" knowledge based questions that I was getting wrong therefore I never got to the Kaplan "harder" questions. That is the only reasoning I can come up with. I think I need to go back and freshen up the content from school and then go onto doing questions again. I don't know???? Just a thought.

Kaplan has an excellent reputation and I know some friends that I went to school with that used solely Kaplan and passed so don't get discouraged by my post.

If it's content that you need to focus on, I would recommend Saunders. I would also continue taking Kaplan practice questions (if you still have access). Do at least 100 every day. Be sure to review precautions (airborne, droplet, contact, standard) & how to implement them (wearing gloves, negative air pressure room, etc). Basic care is easy to overlook. When you get your results back, they should tell you your weaknesses, so start there first.

I did notice there were alot of precaution questions on the test!! I obviously got them wrong I can't believe I failed because I didn't think to review the basics! I feel like a failure but I am trying to stay positive! I have Saunders so I am going to start there.
Thanks
