Suzanne's plan is no longer available. However, there are many other great resources for passing the NCLEX. Good luck.

I've been checking this site for 6 mons and decided to register today to share my experience. I failed nclex the second time, just found out the result today. I studied the feuer cd's and did kaplan q-trainers and q-bank religiously. my q-trainer averaging 50-60 and q-bank 65. When i took the test feb. 23, 2009 i feel confident (or maybe i'm denial) on Some of my answer on prioritation, satas, further teaching, except for drugs w/c i'm not sure if i got right(i remember 2 lipid lowering drugs coz ends w/ -statins, also 3 psych drugs, and alot weird drugs never heard of. Got 8 satas and 3 drop down, shut me off 120. I got mixed feeling of emotions i dont understand (am I gonna cry or not). I can still remember the last question I have about shingellosis which about priorization, and my answer is something about isolation or to report the early symptoms (i dont think its a high level question), that make me sad. .I know based on my kaplan test, i can get 10 questions right at the same time and I can get 10 wrong question in a row when i start panicking..

I've been crying the whole day. but my heart really broke when my husband called me names (*****, ********). He said i never learned from my mistakes from the first time i took the exam. I'ts hard to explain to somebody who doesnt understand how nclex work. I'm a graduate from a foreign country, he keep on saying my english is bad thats why i cant comprehend/understand the questions. (Is my english really bad? guys do you understand what i wrote?? do i make sense?) I feel bad..I feel i lost all my confidence! Low self esteem..just need someone to talk to..
Hey teareyed0001,
1st- Let me tell you that I completely understood everything you said in your post. Yes, I can tell that English is not your 1st language BUT... I have heard and read worse from native americans.
2nd- Do you want to be a nurse? If you answered YES, then pick yourself up and dust yourself off and do what you need to in order to pass this test.
Start with the mental break. During that break make a plan. As Silverdragon102 suggested go out and get the Saunders Review. Pull out a calandar page and start writing down how many hours you will study a day (at least 3 hours daily for at least 45 days) and what topics you will study. Make sure that when you come back from your break you bring back the book, the plan and your renewed confidence and determination.

This site is great for motivation so keep posting.

Hi trauma, when you said Suzanne's plan is not available but there are other great resources, can you provide one or two that you believe would work?

Thanks

I used Saunders. I think the cd is helpful because it really gets you into the mindset of sitting in front of a computer answering questions.
I also found a local review course. You should try looking for one in your area. Maybe contact a local Nursing school and see what they use as a review course. Some are only open to new grads, but I know that there are some who are open to all/people who are retesting. Some will even offer tutoring for those who need it. It is worth looking into.
As far as everything else goes, I think you need to take a bit of a mental break from studying. Take a week to enjoy life, then get back into it.
And by the way, your english is much better than some Americans I know.
I wish you all the best.

I actually heard from a guy back at my old work that Arnold the Gov gave a free review, ahhhhh, and I missed that as well, they've conducted 2007.

You passed right, do you mind helping me out on what you did with Saunder's?

It's actually crazy, my aunt told me to just keep answering questions, and that I did, I answer 75 questions a day then read the rationale, then I moved to 100 questions a day, and on my final 2 weeks I answer 200+ questions a day and then read their rationales, and it took me 6-8 hours a day for my last 2 weeks before the exam date.

If I were you I would curse the hell outta that no good husband of yours. He's a piece of ****!! Maybe you should find another man who loves and cares for you. If he even cared he would of supported you with your current situation. Take my advice leave him because he is no good. Pack your bags and head over to your family in NJ. awww..dont lose faith first and formost....I can only imagine how upset you are...take a vacation..relax...and then slowly prepare yourself again...have you tried susanne's saunders plan?..oh its great...pm her she will be more than happy to help...i did it..even though it was short notice many moons ago...i vow by saunders...and their flashcards are great...however there are many students here also that love kaplan also...if you are going to study for NCLEX study from the SAME AUTHOR...for example if you do saunders stick with saunders...different books have contradictory answers and thats when it gets ugly...third time is a charm...you can do this...head up high and take it slowly...good luck to ya hun....XoXo

I feel your pain, I too don't know what else to do. I have taken it now 3x and I know "my stuff" it's just that I don't feel like I have an opportunity to prove it on the nclex. I think it's just knowing how to answer the questions. I don't know what else to do......I am trying to find a review course, one that you can actually go to...however they are slim to none. My life is on hold and I'm so tired of this hanging over my head when almost my whole graduation class has been working as an RN for over 8 months now. I'm lost and don't know what to do about it, I am certainly not going to give up that would be a waste of 4 years of school. I just don't know if I will ever pass it though, even knowing the drug classes I still having trouble knowing the s/e to them. I'm thinking about doing the Kaplan but I'm afraid to pay the money for that and it just be nothing but questions, I mean that's what I have been doing. If anyone out there knows or can direct me on how to set up a schedule for the next 45 days please let me know, I am all over the place with my studying. I mean what days? how long? what topics to study on which days......I am so depressed beyond belief and I am desperate!
