failed NCLEX-RN want 2 work b4 retake any ideas?

Hey I have a thread about running out of time and failing NCLEX-RN, I'm feeling down but I won't let my test result keep me down. I didn't work all summer because I was preparing for the exam but I really want to work. Does anyone have any ideas or any information on how I can go about this? Thanks
xoxo

I would check the sticky at top of thread New Revised First Tip of Suzanne's Plan. I am using it I will be taking it a 3x in Oct. Keep your head and have faith , believe and you will succeed. We never know why GOD puts us in theses situations but, know he knows what should happen in our future that we will never know because we did everything would be easy. Stay determined and God will follow thorough don't give up.

In my state after you fail you can no longer work as a graduate nurse but as a CNA or unit secretary (which sucks) because this is the time where someone would need the most exposure to the clinical setting but they consider it "unsafe". I'm not sure if you just want to work to take a break from the exam or to help you with it? I'm really sorry about the results i know how you feel i also failed back in july with 265 but i got back on my feet and when there's a will there's a way. I know you can do it if i did it. I'm a really bad test taker all it takes is a little refocusing, good luck

Wow that really sux! If I had known that I would have waited a little longer to take the NCLEX-RN but then again nothing could have prepared me for those machine questions other than working in the hospital so never mind about that. I thought once you fail you can only work as an LPN or lower. This is crazy, I know I am a safe nurse and I don't care what the test says--I ran out of time. Well not making excuses but that's how I feel. I am interested in working in NYC/NJ (Bergen Co.) and I'm working because I want to make $$ while gaining hands on experience in the hospital. I'm really lost right now in that I don't know what to do. I've started researching different hospital just to see what I can work as. If anyone is in my position and now working please let me know what you did. Now I wish I had worked with my temporary liscence so this way I would've been demoted to an LPN rather than only being able to work as a CNA/secretary...this is very dishearting.

even to work as LPN you need to pass the exam so therefore have to start applying all over again.

why dont you apply to work as an assistant at a hospital?
they love to hire people they know are going to be nurses.

hang in there, you will pass your test as long as you study the right thing

when i failed may exam i inquire in a hospital and what they can only offer me is a nurse tech position. they say that once i passed my exam they'll put me in the RN program immediately. but i thought about working and reviewing at the same time, and i guess that wouldn't work for me.. so i chose to just focus on my review. hang in there. a lot here wants to work and earn $. don't worry we'll get there soon. we'll pass the exam with His guidance.

Thank you all for your advice, input, and support. I just got a job and I decided to work p/t as a physical therapist aid. The job isn't demanding or stressful and it's 2 doors down from my house. I let the manager know what times I would like to work and he said he'll work w/me. I am sooooooooooo excited b/c this is perfect for me right now. I have spoken with many people--new RNs and hiring managers alike who advised me 2 lay low and not work as an aid b/c orientation is stressful and it's not worth it right now and I agree 100%. I start work 2morrow and I will start studying for my retake on thursday, I needed a week off b/c I spent so much time studying. This time around I will study smarter.
luv u guys

Real winner is someone who can accept defeat graciously. A real winner does not plan to lose or aim to lose, and yet when the loss comes a real winner does not waste time on anger, complaints or blame.

A real winner finds value and learning even in defeat, then goes on to win a victory which outshines all the setbacks along the way. You can recognize a real winner by the way he acts when things don't go his way. You can spot a real winner by her positive, winning attitude even in the midst of defeat.

Even cowards can look strong when things are going in their favor. True winners show their strength regardless of the circumstances. Those who are willing to accept defeat when it comes in spite of their best efforts, are the ones who ultimately can claim true victory.
