Failed NCLEX RN the second time. Now what do I do?

Nursing Students NCLEX

I am an Internationally Educated Nurse and seeking registration in Alberta, Canada. I wrote the NCLEX RN twice already and failed on both. My first experience was on July 2015, got 75 questions and I was sure I didnt pass. So I made myself busy studying for the second attempt. I used Saunders once more and NCSBNs 3 week course. Did a lot of practice questions after reading the whole Saunders book. I took my second attempt Semptember 2015. At the start, I was taking my time, making sure I read all the questions and choices properly. When I was down to item 45, I went for the scheduled break, came back after 8 minutes. At item 74, I was so nervous that it will end at 75 again. So I went for an unscheduled break. Came back after 5 mins. When I answered item 75, it took me to item 76 and then I started to panic. I didnt go for another break after that. I ended up running out of time and ended at 259. Now i read somewhere that when you ran out of time, NCSBN will grade the last 60 items that you answered. Had I known before, I should have focused on reading the questions and answered them properly rather than rushing and trying to fit the last few items in my time remaining. Today, I received my official results from my nursing board. I failed. So devastating but I guess I have to move on and not dwell in my failure. I heard that KAPLAN is a great review resource. Any other suggestions out there? For now I am taking a break with rescheduling my next attempt. Specially here in Canada, graduatr nurses seeking registration only have three attempts.

Thanks for taking the time to read my experience. I just needed to speak out. Will appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Hey I know how you feel. I'm also a foreign educated nursing student. I recently failed my second attempt, ran out of time at about 245. I used NCSBN and some other resources like UWorld. But right now I am taking a break before I schedule my third attempt. But I am confident I can eventually pass it. Doing a lot of questions helped for me. UWorld had good rationals, I not taken Kaplan before.

Take a look at my pos "just passed NCLEX...my advice" and see if any of that helps!
