Nursing Students NCLEX

Okay, so I took nclex for the first time today...had 265 questions....got the bad pop up after. i am beyond upset and cried for a couple hrs....blahhhh......for those who take nclex in the future....please please practice prioritization, delegation, and select all the apply. Know what patient to see first and so forth. I don't really know what I can and can't post on here, but know infection control in and out, pharm ( I had so many meds I had never even seen bf), know lab values. I did the kaplan review and i have to say the videos were a waste of time but the questions were very similiar to nclex. I heard that Hurst does a better job of making difficult concepts easier to understand. Kaplan does have EXCELLENT questions that are very similar to nclex in my opinion. I had a lot of disease processes that were select all apply symptoms... ALOT of those.......DO NOT think u can just wing this test....study study and study more!!! and don't blow off psych questions....idk if it was bc I was failing the test...but I had A LOT of psych questions....good luck my peeps:) p.s. I know it's not the end of the world.....we were drawn into this field for a reason...bc we love to help people and we have compassion for the ones that are suffering and wanna help them....lets not let one....sorry....STUPID test get in the way of that!!!

wow...i was reading this post and it felt like the time i took my rn which ended @ 265..similar topics u posted...ONLY difference was i didnt cry afterwards..lol..i failed back in oct 2010.....rested for 2 weeks...then joined kaplan review...and it seemed like all i needed were test taking strategies...but i watched all kaplan video...reviewed some content...did all the qbank... Did lcharity...nclex 4000 and saunders...i did wait a full six mons b4 i retook my exam and passed with 75 on the last day my ATT was expiring.....u can do it..hang in there... ..... What u have to do now is analyze why u failed this test...was it content? Or test taking strategies? Anxiety? Tired? Once u do that....work to eliminate that ...keep practising..practising..

good luck

I would wait until you know for certain that you failed, before allowing yourself to get upset over something that you can not help at this point. Instead, congratulate yourself on having taken the test. Should you find out you did not pass, then it is not the end of the world. Things just get delayed while you prepare again. Good luck.
