Much has already been written on Kaplan, Saunders, NSCBN etc, a lot will depend on what your study style is like. Suzanne's plan was initially started to assist foreign trained nurses to pass the exam and apart from the latest Saunder's comp book it is free. Something to consider

We suggest you consider using Suzanne's plan with the Saunders text. You can read about it in the stickies at the top of this forum. Good luck.

I bought Saunders 4th edition few days ago. I am foreign educated and failed first time. I am usually very sceptic to many things, critical thinker (but not on the exam unfortunately).
But that book is really awesome. I did Kaplan ...good but expensive. I don't know where the secret is but for now I want have this whole book in my head, chapter after chapter. If someone will wake me up in the middle of the night I have to know what is on page 639, first verse from the left, everything! Maybe thats the secret...and hope that exam will contain what the book contains, nothing beyond it...
good luck to you!

The Saunders Q & A is actually good. i learned a lot from that book. NCSBN is also really good. i actually read and tried to understand the lectures on NCSBN specially with Med surg.

basically, with my 2nd try i only used Saunder's, NCSBN, a Q & A book on prioritization, delegation and assignments and this book where it concentrated on SATA. i didn't even get any SATA on my 2nd take nor calculations. i guess the computer knew i am excellent in calculations. but yah i was worried why i didn't have a single SATA. i thought it was unusual. oh and btw, make your own notes for pharma. organize them. this helped me memorized meds since i was always stubborn to memorize 'em.

i stopped at 140 and i didn't know what to think but after a month of waiting ... i swear twas the longest month ever for me... i finally got the small letter =]

more importantly, pray. it helps.

good luck to all who will be taking =D
