Join the ranks of those who take the exam for the fourth time. Use any current prep materials that you already own. If you need to work to save up the money to retest, then do so. Persist. Good luck.

Please don't be upset! Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep trying!

I haven't finished nursing school yet but I can understand your frustration. On Thursday this week, I will be repeating my Med/Surg 1 class for the third time... yes 3 times I will take Med/Surg 1.

This last time I missed passing by less than 1- 2 point question. The times I have failed I had to sit out for 3 months. Besides re-taking classes and sitting out this has put me behind a year. I will be starting my 3rd year on a 2-year program. I have seen people I have started with graduating who were enrolled in a class after me.

I personally know a friend who took 10 years to get through a 4-year program, he's such a great nurse!

Keep trying! Keep studying!

Find someone to teach and that may help you!

Good Luck!!

Thanks so much I also took med surg 2x .But this is different from actually being in school this is way deeper this is halfway finishing a goal and not being able to completely win the race i made alot sacrifices all for what .I can't get over this as I'm typing to you I have a face full of tears .This test was exactly easy at least i thought so.I don't know where i keep going wrong .Im just so frustrated at this point i cont know what else to do I' have done all the praying and studying that is humanely possible and still i end up with FAILED RESULT .

As long as you continue to act as your own worst enemy, you are practically guaranteeing that you will not succeed. Stop wasting time crying. After the first failure, understandable, but now, you should know the deal. Relax, reconvene your efforts, and persist.

I would say recruit a good friend who knows you. One who will hold you accountable, maybe even a school friend that knows your weaknesses.

Meet with them weekly to discuss things you might want to go over. You may want to connect with some instructors you had while in school as well.

I am writing this as if I had to take the NCLEX. These are things I would consider. Figure out a new way to learn the material.

I am personally working on concept maps this time for my Med/Surg re-take.

I will also be looking into how to use ADPIE to solve patient problems.

Hope this helps!

You are completely 10000% right but i keep going to the end and not passing i don't know i come home and read the review book and i from the questions i remember as i am going back i got them right .I just feel so darn hopeless..

Just to help you out a little bit med surg on works if you have a complete understanding of A&P ..Go thru your A&P NOTES...THANKS for trying to make me feel better .God bless You..Hope u have much success..

You are not a loser. I took the test SEVERAL times, but I didn't give up all though I sure wanted to. Keep your head up. God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers. You are ready for the battle and you will win! Just stick with one study source, (Kaplan, uworld, etc) and one plan only. Sometimes, people use so many different study sources, you can't figure out what works and what doesn't. The last time I tested was 2004 and never even thought about testing again, and in April of this year (2016), I decided to retest and July 25, I passed. You can do it. I did a lot of NCLEX questions and the free Kaplan seminars and focused and did what I needed to do. Hope this helps to keep you motivated and encouraged. Blessings to you!
