Hey just wanted to say that Hurst review worked miracles for me. I passed my nclex today. Failed the first time. Hurst gave me the content info that I needed to pass nclex. It is very focused and short. I promise if you know te information like they tell you, without hesitation and doubt you will pass. I tried Kaplan and Saunders. The first time-graduated top of my class. Hurst works. Try it. If you need help contact me I don't mind helping who ever wants to pass and go to work help people and earn a check in the process.

I took the NCLEX the same day you did.... I'm so sorry that you did not pass. I hope you find something that works for you.

I did pass and would like to let you know what helped me... I am not able to just continuously do questions. I found myself missing too many and reading the rationales help, but I needed to get the content down. So, I invested in the Hurst online review. Our school provided a review by a different company, not Hurst or Kaplan, but I did not find it helpful. What I liked about the Hurst online program were the video lectures and worksheets you fill out while listening to lectures. After reviewing a certain subject I would then use my NCLEX 4000 to review questions. If there was something I wanted to read a bit more, then I would use my Saunders book.

Those were the 3 things I used and passed with 75 questions. Some things that work for one person, may not work for another. I know what type of things help me remember content, so I had to just invest the money and do what works for me. I had friends that did Kaplan but they also advised me that it was more question focused, which worked for some of them.

Good luck and keep your chin up! You'll get through this:-)

@babyblush hey don't feel a certain way about failing the first time. You are in the company of greats lol. Plus you already know what to suspect the second time around. The hurst will give you not only confidence but a core content understanding that is amazing. Don't sweat it, also don't stop putting out applications for work. I received a Jo a month ago an informed them that I am still waiting to test. What I am trying to say is you never know. Stay positive!!!!

Hi, ProfRN4, I know many nurses who earn their nursing degree in America and fail nclex-LPN/RN, just like our friend that hasn't pass several times. I do not think she has language barrier. What about the people who earn degree in the U.S, does it means they have language barrier? You sound so foolish for speaking to our friend like this. To All the foreign degree holder, stop putting yourself down. You earn your degree just like anyone else. There are hundreds of stories like this, but people don't want to tell it on allnurses.com. She has the courage to explained her sad failure story and she is asking for help. By the way, You Are Not a Failure, because You are smart, you have wisdom, you have knowledge and you have the understanding to pass the exam like anyone. We are here to encourage this young woman in anyways. This is one of the reasons why people DO NOT WANT TO ASK because they are ashamed to ask for assistant because of people like you. I will encourage you to read at least two chapter per day from saunders yellow book or from any book that you have, and do many of questions & Why?means (Rationales). Within a month you should have read the whole book. Read first thing in the morning, it may take you about 2 to 3 hours and understand it.
    Good Luck!!!!!!!!!
I believe that ProfRN4 was trying to understand if there was a reason why the OP was unable to pass her exam after so many tries. How is that foolish?
I agree that a foreign education does not have to mean that there is a language barrier, but you would have to consider it as a possibility, especially when one person has failed so many times. You would be looking at any possible causes for this failure.
I am not saying there is a language barrier problem with the OP. I do not know her. However, that very thought crossed my mind, as well, as a possibility.
I also wondered if the OP was trying to study from too many different sources. This can actually do more harm than good.
I would have a source for how to strategically answer NCLEX questions, and one source chock full of NCLEX-style questions in all nursing areas (and this must contain very good rationales).
Too many different sources may actually cause more confusion.
As for other sources of the OP's problem, I was also considering test anxiety, poor study habits and, yes, I even considered possible unsuitability to perform as a nurse.
    I considered all of it.
Any of it can be true... or not.
Any and all options have to be considered (no matter how unpleasant) in order to identify the problem... in order to come up with a plan of action.
