externship program while reviewing for the boards

by getmore

I failed nclex last Friday.I'm planning to take it again on September. Would it be a good idea to pursue an externship program until I pass the board exam? Would an externship, 2 to 3 days a week, help me practice and get experience while I'm reviewing for my boards at the same time; would it be advantageous or detriment to do so?

Thanks in advance

If it is advantageous, may I please ask for suggestions which externship to go to?

You are unable to do any type of externship program until you pass your boards. Once you write the exam, you no longer have student status.

You will be able to work as a CNA, but nothing that requires additional skills for you to perform.

Best of luck to you, if you can take the time to prepare before beginning to work, then things will be easier for you to do.

Thanks for the input! I called several people yesterday about externship program and just like you said it is only for students and I am no longer one.

Thanks again..
