Did anyone find Hurst Review helpful?

Hello Everyone,

Can anyone tell me if the Hurst Nclex Review was helping in passing the Nclex-PN? I would like to know the pros as well as the cons. Thank you in advance.

You're lucky I opened this out of curiosity...since your title was pretty vague. Next time be more specific...

Anyhoo, to answer your question, I took the Hurst live NCLEX-RN review 6 years ago (can't believe it's been THAT long) and I found it helpful. My hospital paid for it and paid me to take it. Of the new grads that started in ICU at the same time as I did, the one who didn't take it didn't pass boards. It wasn't my only source though, I did a lot of questions, both in computer and book form. But she was helpful by teaching how to figure out the right answer, how to work through questions that involve judgement and experience to know that the right answer to a novice nurse may not be the right answer to an experienced nurse. And the delegation stuff was very helpful!

Good luck with boards.

BTW, the spell checker for this site says judgement is spelled wrong!

I am currently taking the Hurst review. Tomorrow is my last day and I am sad that it has come to an end. I am absolutely loving it! Everything is put into such simple explanations and so easy to understand!!!

The Hurst review was a good refresher course in preparing for the NCLEX-RN, I just finished with the course last week. I am now studying the Hurst book, Kaplan test taking strategies book and doing NCLEX questions.

I took Hurst 2 years ago and had no problems with NCLEX. I have sat through the review 2 times, I took it prior to my last semester in nursing school to pull things together and then my class decided to take it so I was required to sit for it again but all in all it worked! There are still things to this day I remeber from that course and I still have my workbook and look back on it from time to time. I have recommended it to many new grads who have been successful as well.
Good Luck on Boards!!!!
