Delegation & Leadership NCLEX Questions

  1. 0
I understand that there are a lot of delegation-type questions on the NCLEX? Can anyone who's taken the exam this year attest to this? Also, what books/resources are out there that will give me practice questions on delegation/leadership questions?

Thanks for all your attention & assistance

I have not yet taken NCLEX, but did just go through the 65 questions on professional issues on the NCLEX-RN Made Incredibly Easy CD-ROM. The types of questions in the prof. issues section on the CD were: prioritizing, delegation, supervision, some leadership, law, ethics, etc. I also know the Saunders Q & A CD has a section on "fundamentals" with these same types of questions included in them. Hope this helps!

I took my nclex on May 16th. (It stopped at 75 and the next day, May 17th, I found out that I passed!!! ) And yes, I can certaintly attest to the priority thing! It seemed that almost every question was what patient would you see first, or these four patients telephoned, which call should you return first, yadda, yadda, yadda....
The problem is that there aren't very good study guides like that. The best I found was the Saunder's CD. I also had some questions on herbal stuff. That sorta surprised me. Things like saw palmetto, etc. FYI, you don't want to take garlic and aspirin at the same time! I had no math, but about 7 or 8 of those check all that apply. But everyone's tests are so varied.
Just have confidence in yourself and be calm going in. When you come out, you will feel like this: or like this: or like this: :smackingf But in the end, it is worth it, because you will be this:
    Good luck!

Hey! I also can attest to the priority questions on the NCLEX. I do not think that there is enough questions out there to prepare...well, in my case, I walked out thinking what was THAT? I took NCLEX this past tuesday and it also stopped at 75 and found out yesterday that I passed. I didn't have many delegation, but I did have several calculation problems, a few select all that apply, and who would you see first, call first, how did you know that teaching of a staff member was effective/not effective, etc. oh, yeah and disaster scenerios. I did use the Saunders CD and the Mosby's to help me prepare.
Definitely relax and take your time, you have 6 hours!!!! You'll do great! Just remember to think everything through but don't read too much into it and definitely always go with your gut! GOODLUCK!
